Very nice hotel close to everything. 200 m from the metro to the airport (Monastiraki), 50 m from the main shopping street (Ermou), 500 m from Syntagma square, and right on the edge of the Plaka area. This means the hotel is in the middle of a very lively (and tourist filled) area, and you dont have to walk far...

I have travelled a lot and stayed at many hotels, and this hotel stands head and shoulders above the rest.A special mention to Eva who goes that extra mile. The location was great there was no shortage of restuarents just a couple of minutes walk plus all the shopping you need to do right on your doorstep.

We stayed in the Plaka for the good rate but we were more than happy with the location, staff and the rooms. Recommend the place for the historical enthusiasts as well as for city going tourists. Weather was great (mild) so we we can be sure how the place will handle the hot summer days. Can recommend Plaka without any...

Couldn't have been in a better location for touring athens on foot. Hotel was close to the Acropolis and other ruins. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with access to a coffe machine and cookies and biscuits until late afternoon. Also a wonderful rooftop garden for star gazing and enjoying the beauty before retiring. Only complaint was the room was quite...

I was at the Plaka Hotel for three nights. The purpose of my trip was business. The hotel is located right in the Plaka area, which is very central. I had an amazing view of the Acropolis from my bedroom window. There is also a terrace where you can sit and enjoy a drink while looking at the beautiful Acropolis....

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
