The staff at the Plaka Hotel were incedibly helpful. The manageress helped everyone find out anything they wanted to know and was very knowledgeable. The view from the roof of the Acorpolis was breath taking by day and especially by night.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for.two nights. The location was ideal for sightseeing the city in a short period of time. We could walk everywhere. The main selling point for this hotel is the balcony. It has amazing views of the acropolis and lybacettus hill. There is a bar on top and comfy seating. We spent a...

Dear Lcutaiar Thank you for taking time to share your feedback on your stay. Yes, Plaka's location is "ideal", next to most Archeological sites, Monastiraki square with direct metro line to the airport and port. Plenty of restaurants, bars and Ermou main shopping street are on out foot step. Referring to your comment on your upgrade to a superior room,...

We booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and this is the first time I've been disappointed by a hotel highly recommended. I was surprised to find the hotel is a 3 star since the prices are similar to the 4 star hotels we'd stayed at on our trip through Germany prior to our arrival in Greece. Most of the...

If you are in athens for 1-2 nights ... Great location. Functional hotel but noisy. Nice patio but only a corner of it functions with the great views. Starbucks and a great gyro place 1 blocks way . Overall good location but if you want something nicer stay at the Exedra palace.

Dear OhioTrave. Thank you for staying with us and for your review. I am glad that you were satisfied with the " great location", and restaurants near by. I was surprised from your comment on our roof top. Plaka hotel's big terrace space is an unobstructed of 360 degrees. It is not only from one corner. You can see the...

Great location - close to the Plaka area and flea markets - lots of mens & ladies clothes, cafes and high end and low cost souvenirs. Good proximity to the hop-on hop-off buses, making it easy to see the city lighlights. Make sure you visit the rooftop after 5pm, and relax and take in the awesome view of the Acropolis...

A great hotel in a good location and only a 3 star!! Lovely room and modern bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plentiful breakfast and access to free tea and coffee most of the day. The roof top area really makes your stay with fantastic views over the Acropolis as you sip a glass of fine Greek wine.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
