This is an ideal location for tourist and business travelers. Lot of restaurants around this cute neighborhood. Easy access to metro and sightseeing tour buses. Breakfast was decent. However the rooms like many European hotels are very cramped and beg for natural light. I also did not like the bathrooms as it was scruffy and outdated fixtures.

Excellent location, excellent service and excellent relation rate / quality (in the mid winter though). The roof top opening on the Acropolis is wonderful. It was a perfect place to gather with our colleagues on a professional trip. Definitely recommended!

This hotel was above our expectations. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, from Maria at the front desk who helped us book tickets to a play to Dimos the bartender who made us amazing drinks. The "continental" breakfast was something to write home about. There was so much to choose from and everything was the freshest. Also, we decided they...

Acropolis is really close and Acropolis Museum is across the street. Subway is really close to get you around most of Athens and get you out to other far areas of Greece. Their sister hotel is a little notch but it is around the corner. Huge market is also a decent walking distance. Going to the airport take about an...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
