The hotel was well located and the breakfast was excellent. The room was very small for a triple. Really just a small single with a single bed added. The staff were helpful with directions. Be wary of pick pockets on the Metro.

Very nice hotel although the clean room was on the smallish side. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful although their understanding of English at times was limited and led to some challenges. Breakfast was good particularly the fresh orange juice.

Breakfast was amazing and the hotel was very clean. The staff was very amenable in arranging cabs and an early breakfast before our morning ferry. The location was perfect and right in the middle of the city.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were happy with the location. Its at the start of the famous Ermo shopping street. The rooms were small but had everything. The lighting can be improved, I found it too dim. The breakfast was the same everyday, so really didnt look forward to it. The room service was lousy as they had...

Although this hotel was near the Parliament building and Syntagma Square, the room was very small and the view was onto the busy pedestrian street below. We chose to have dessert from room service two nights, and both nights there were things on the menu that were not available to order.

Great location, a little small room but perfect for one person. Room was clean and tidy with great breakfast. Service was good at the reception. The 2 nice chaps at the hotel lobby was always willing to help with directions and suggestions when asked. Always smiling too:)

The hotel is in the PERFECT location for visiting all the main sites in Athens, and is also on a street with some great shops, restaurants, and bars. For the money, I don't think it gets any better. Yes, the rooms are somewhat small but they have everything you need -- and you can always walk to the sister hotel...

I stayed for a weekend on May 22- 24 during my last visit in Athens for a conference. It is a very clean and decent hotel. Large rooms, comfortable beds and bathrooms. Better by far from many same price hotels i stayed in the U.K. The breakfast was very rich. I notice the fresh orange juice which you cannot find...

Great hotel located in walking of many of Athens great sights. With lots of shops, restaurants and cafes close by it is a perfect alternative to those not needing high end amenities as a pool or fitness center on property. Breakfast was excellent. Whether traveling for business or pleasure you will not be disappointed with the Electra Hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel for our 2 day trip in Athens. The rooms are a little small, but overall clean and a nice place to stay. The breakfast include had a variety of items. This hotel is worth the price if you are only plannning to be in Athens for a short amount of time.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
