Lobby and public areas impressive but the rooms are poor. Small, crowded (mine had 3 bed crammed in) and shabby. Also room not cleaned very well, some surfaces and floor a bit grubby, also there was stuff under the bed that had not been cleaned. However the breakfast was good and location OK, 5 minutes walk from a metro. 20-30... More

I don't want to extend but ovearll not a 4* hotel. WiFi incredibly expensive, for 3 days I had to pay 60€ WiFi Connection on 3 devices, you can only connect up to two devices per each purchase (stupid). Breakfast was poor and disorganized. Rooms were terribly old, I stayed in the Superior Suite wich is supposed to be one... More

Our room was located in the 'old' wing of the hotel. And that's not a good thing. The view of our room (214) was of that of the airco units and the noice to go with that. The beds were hard, Wifi expensive, bathroom old and used. This room was not worth the money. The hotel itself was good. Check... More

I stayed at this hotel during September at a suit room with my family. The room was dim and the view was very poor (looking at the hole of the building). At breakfast, I waited for almost ten minutes for the table to be cleaned and when I somewhat compalined about it, I was rebuked by the waitress. She said... More

We did not pay for this hotel, so I cannot judge the price for money. Great central location, friendly staff and big breakfast. But the rooms are quite old, small, and need some fixing! Internet is paid and the restaurant also very expensive...

This was our first visit to Athens. We stayed here for 5 nights in August 2014. The hotel is centrally located and quite close to all the tourist attractions and shopping areas. The bathrooms are very small even for an average built person. You could hurt yourself in the bath if you are not careful because it is so small.... More

Impressive lobby however the rooms are in desperate need of renovating. The room we stayed in was dank, the roof leaked, there was mould/dust build up in the bathroom, the room was made up of two hard single beds and we had a view of the large loud air conditioning unit. The walls were paper thin and at 3am could... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
