Hotel room was noisy because of the street location, rooms are averaged size .Heating worked great. Cleaning service impeccable, breakfast delicious ,but always same food Every day. Internet really slow. Free sauna and pool but if you don't buy anything or go to spa girls are not too friendly lol. Roof restaurant doesn't serve non alcoholic drinks. Overall was just... More

This hotel is authentic and charming. Family run, it oozes the charm that can never be accomplished by big brands. The staff were passionate about their service - lots of older, experienced staff too, which was really refreshing. They couldn't have been more helpful with their recommendations, advise etc. The view from our room was breathtaking - straight across to... More

This hotel is located right in the town centre, with a safe surrounding area and within walking distance to major attractions. Importantly, a few nice Chinese restaurants are just 5 to 7 minute away by walking. The roof top at the 7th floor is a wonderful position for taking photos of Acropolis in the sunrise or sunset. The hotel... More

15 minutes walk from the Akropolis, 5 minutes from the palace, really grate location. Wide and clean rooms, decent breakfast. Free Wifi connection that can be improved, but they have a better one for which you can pay.

We spent 3 night at this hotel on a getaway trip with a friend and our babies. Perfect location! located just in town center, within minutes of waking from shops, restaurants and some attractions. Rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. Great service, lovely food and friendly helpful stuff.

Located right in town centre, within walking distance of restaurants and some attractions so perfect for visitors. The hotel is pretty but the room we had was really small. Our room was also at the front of the hotel overlooking the street so not great view and a little dark even during the day as there is a building right... More

The welcome, check-in, room, bed, bathroom, staff, cleanliness, hotel location and breakfast all fantastic! We slept very well in the comfortable beds, started our days with their awesome breakfast and then due to the hotel's great location had easy access for all our shopping and touring!! Lastly, this may seem like a minor thing but this hotel is probably the... More

I really enjoyed our stay at Electra Palace Athens hotel. Its location is perfect and we had an amazing view of the acropolis from our room. The cleaning service was superb (they cleaned several times within a day :) ) The YOUNG staff members at the information desk were always attentive and very helpful to get around the city.

We stayed two nights on the 5th floor with a view of the Acropolis. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing both mornings! Delicious coffee. Our only complaint is that the room was hot as there is no air conditioning available in November (when we stayed). We left... More

Excellent location, on a calm street in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the major sights as well as all the restaurants in Plaka and Monastiraki. The roof top bar, restaurant and pool all offer a splendid view of the Acropolis rock. Maybe not the biggest of rooms, yet still nice and tidy and offering the standard... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
