I arrived at the Electra on the 9th March 2017. The staff were lovely and the welcome warm. The hotel itself is beautiful and maintained to a very high standard. The room (second floor), although without a view, was very good for the business traveller. It had good wifi, a large desk and different types of sockets which meant my...

booked the hotel as we were drawn to the neoclassical looks. the lobby and restaurant were really good. Thought the rooms would be a bit more spectacular but they were nice and fit for purpose. Used the spa and enjoyed the experience received from Tena and her team. Overall i would rate the hotel somewere between average and very good

We booked this hotel by looking at reviews online having never visited Athens before. The hotel has more than met our needs. Staff can't do enough...even upgrading our room on th 6th floor to one with a balcony on the 4th as the heat hi g her up was stifling! The buffet breakfast can't be faulted ..loads of variety and...

This was a mother-daughter trip. We came to Athens planning on doing some sightseeing and the majority of the sights being within walking distance (only about 10 minutes on foot) made a huge difference. We walked from the hotel to all of the major sights in very good time. We had a smaller room-but it still had a shower, a...

This review is long overdue. We were guests at the Electra Palace in July 2016. We began our trip to Greece with a two night stay at the Electra Palace and, 9 days later, we stayed here again for a night before leaving for home. The kind and gracious staff at the Electra Palace made for wonderful "bookends" to our...

This is a wonderful hotel. The lobby is elegant, the staff at every level are courteous, the breakfast is the best buffet in all of Europe, and it has the best views of the Acropolis in Athens. Highly recommended,

The hotel location is absolutely perfect for a tourist: 10 min walk to Acropolis, in the center of Plaka. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and our balcony has a view on Acropolis. Breakfast offered a great choice, yogurts, eggs, cheese, fruits and more. Our daughter enjoyed waffles I could make myself fresh for her in 3.5min. Their SPA is...

The hotel was nice, good location in walking distance to Acropolis as well as restaurants and shops. The room was fine - size appropriate to Athens i.e. not big but what we were expecting. However the room was too hot for us and there was no air conditioning. Had dinner in the restaurant overlooking the Acropolis which was nice.

Stayed on business and was impressed by the overall cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Wasn't lucky enough to get one but try and book a room overlooking the Acropolis if you can. Breakfast was particularly delicious with a wide range of foods including a hot waffle machine - nice!

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
