Centrally situated in Athens, this hotel provides large, quiet rooms and a restful ambience. The rooftop restaurant was closed for the winter when we went in March - disappointing - as was the pool. Many restaurants locally, but turn right out of the hotel instead of heading towards the Acropolis Museum street, where all the tourist restaurants are. Also near...

In this hotel we had a corporate conference. The hotel is far too outdated, hasn't been renovated for many years, rooms are terrible - AC is working only for heat making it impossible to be in the room unless you like to sleep in a sauna. Furniture is old, bed small and not comfortable, pillows and blanket are horrbile. If...

our second visit and the hotel continues to live up to expectations, friendly, clean, some fantastic views and in the right location to visit most of the sites of the city, as well as the restaurants and shops. The breakfast is good quality and very varied, the service is faultless and the staff helpful and knowledgeable. Great views of the...

Had a 5th floor room, well appointed...with a courtyard view. The staff is very attentive, and they don't seem rattled by crowds that gather at times in the expansive lobby The hotel is a popular one, accommodating conferences and tour groups. This is walking distance from the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the older shopping area of the city. Also...

I did not stay in the Hotel overnight, but for a conference in the roof top conference room. Coffee breaks with Acropolis view and friendly and very good catering. After the conference one is directly in town. Nice.

The view of the Acropolis from our balcony was a 'wow' at this hotel! The location was also great, within walking distance of the Acropolis, museum, great restaurants and shops. The staff at this gorgeous hotel was friendly and helpful. Meal prices were high at 35 euros, but you could walk down the street and grab a yummy gyro and...

It's been awhile since I stayed here, but this hotel left me with such a great impression, I need to write a review. This hotel has nice and spacious rooms and good beds. The location is great - in a quiet street and five minutes walking from the Akropolis metro station and museum. Breakfast was a disappointment. Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
