This hotel provided me with the absolute BEST hospitality and customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I greatly recommend this hotel and promise you will not regret it. The staff was absolutely amazing and so friendly, they truly care for their guest more than their job requires. Special shoutout to Mario for being the absolute best and being so kind during my stay there! If every hotel in the world had their own Mario no one would ever want to be home.

Hotel's Favourite
We enjoyed another outstanding stay at an Intercontinental property courtesy of the Athens Athenaeum. The staff were doing an outstanding job in very difficult circumstances with fewer guests due to the ongoing Covid situation. Every aspect was excellent, from dealing with the reservations manager via email to organise our stay, to food & beverage, room cleaning and reception & concierge during our stay. Everyone was so helpful. Every need was met. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

In my opinion this enhanced our 4-night stay at the IC, Athens. We booked using points, status was recognised as Spire Ambassador and we were charged a very reasonable upgrade fee for a very comfortable Club acropolis view room. The club lounge being closed shouldn't put visitors off, because the soft drinks and daytime snacks are served by the pool which is convenient and the evening drinks are at the Premier bar on the rooftop terrace. This is a major bonus as you are in the open and able to watch the sunset and the evening light on the Acropolis. The complimentary drinks include a palatable champagne (Philip de Nanthueil) and starter size servings from the restaurant, like delicious moussaka and Greek salad. The staff in the hotel are all friendly and attentive, but we would like to particularly commend the entire Premier team of staff who looked after us in the early evenings, especially Spyros, Monika & Alexis. The two concierge gentlemen were very helpful in finding us tables at busy restaurants and giving us information about covid tests. The gym was spacious & well equipped and the ground floor pool lovely for a swim and sunbathing. The only minor issues were the Aircon at breakfast was uncomfortably cold and it seemed the staff couldn't control it although expressed sympathy. There was also some traffic noise just by the pool although only at busy times. The shuttle bus was not running although taxi to sight in the city centre were fast and cost 4-8 euros each way I recommend a stay at this very good hotel and upgrade to the Club level if possible.

I agree with some reviews that this hotel has bad concierge service. We actually went next toor to the Hilton twice to get information. The Intercontinental gives you a map and sends you in your way or tells you take 2 lefts and walk 6 minutes if they are not on an extended personal call. Meanwhile the Hilton calls the place and looks it up to see if it’s open and books it for you ans I’m not even a guest!!! The Hotel is old and stained. Dirty cups and glasses. A cup of coffee will cost your over $5 which a 5 star hotel should charge not a 4 star. Not sure if this is even considered a 4 star. More like 3. No free breakfasts for platinum members if you use points. Not even coffee. Pathetic. This hotel is priced out of what it’s worth. Would not recommend it. I stayed at the intercontinental in Vietnam a few months ago and it doesn’t even compare. I don’t know if it’s the culture or bad management. This place is managed horribly. I’ve never seen a hotel has several cleaning carts clogging up the hallway. So weird. The good News is that the bed was soft.

We stayed 2 nights here on our way to the Greek islands. This is very good hotel. Service is top class, rooms are very spacious and clean. Breakfast is great (best covid measures in breakfast service I have ever seen). Location between Piraeus port and Athens center is a good compromise. I can recommend this hotel!
