Acropolis view benefits immensely from its location, otherwise it is a pretty average hotel. It is truly just a 5 minute walk to the Acropolis and you can easily walk to Plaka or Thesseion in 10-15 minutes. The Acropolis Metro station is the closest. The staff is friendly and helpful. They serve a solid breakfast, but nothing out of the...

The rooms on the higher floors have a great view of the Acropolis and the view from the roof is even better - especially at night. The rooms were simple but comfortable, a down side was that there was no shower head holder so you need to hold it the whole time you are showering. Bathroom is small but adequate....

The little balconies don't overlook the Acropolis, you have to look sideways from them (but you DO see the Acropolis then! Be aware that in mid July they were doing a fair bit of renovation work and started at 8 am so might be worth checking this out if you were wanting lie ins!

We spent a few days here on the beginning of a trip that included the Greek Islands, Istanbul, and Israel. They arrange an airport pick up that went very smoothly. Our hotel room was very nice considering the moderate price. We had a bit of a view of the Acropolis, very romantic when lit up at night. The free wifi...

I choose this hotel for it's location and price and that's what it gives you. On the other hand, as claimed on their website: the hotel has been renovated in 2004 and it shows that probably in the last 9 years not much has been done. The room and bathroom were clean but furniture and beds are outdated. Also, the...

We booked Acropolis View at the last minute and got a bargain 'eleventh hour' rate. The experience we had was simply fantastic for such a low price, however it would be expected for the normal high season rate. The location really can't be beaten. It is on the doorstep of the Acropolis and only 2 minutes from Plaka by foot,...

This hotel is in a great location: close to the Acropolis, museum, plaka and much more. The rooms were small, but the balcony overlooking the park was very nice. The best view is from the rooftop patio. We had two rooms because the first night there was a pounding sound coming from the air vent. When we complained they moved...

amazing view and location with rooftop patio. Upon arrival staff was unable to break a large bill for us which left us in a tough situation. Staff could have been more accommodating but overall a great stay. Bar is open 24 hours.

We came Athens with our 1.5 year old baby. We were a little bit anxious about this. But becouse the hotel is so near to everywhere we could reach the room when ever we need. The street where the hotel located is perfect. There are nice houses. A safe place. But rooms are a little small. But not so necessary, becouse...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
