I suppose that I've become accustomed to New York City prices, and by that measure, this hotel was a good value. We had a triple room for the three of us,which came with three single beds that were pretty unremarkable, but serviceable. We opted for a balcony room, and the balcony had a nice view of the Acropolis. We also opted...

We have no complaints about the hotel itself. The staff were nice, the room was spotless, bathroom looked as though it was just refurbished, but the area it was situated in did not make us feel safe. We arrived very tired, went down to the square for dinner and came back and went to bed. We were on the 6th...

This hotel in the perfect location. Walking distance to the major sites and to a myriad of cafes, restaurants, interesting shops, flea market and more besides. But surrounded by a whole range of everyday shops and markets with Athenians going about their business. Hotel staff are friendly, and the place is clean and comfortable. The lovely rooftop bar has great...

We stayed at this hotel twice during September 2013, on the way to and from the island of Naxos. The hotel is in a good location, central to the important historical sites, the Sunday flea market and restaurants. It has a wonderful rooftop bar, with an unbeatable view of the Acropolis, especially after dark when it is floodlit. The music...

Clean, basic hotel. Good location from shops and acropolis Good basic breakfast Comfy bed. Rooftop bar could be improved with some music and cheaper drinks but still nice (pool table would be cool!) Only negative was the rooms smelled like cigarettes. We stayed 2 nights then 1 night (so we had 2 different rooms).

This hotel ticks ALL the boxes! The location is unbeatable, we walked to the acropolis without a map. The view of the acropolis from the roof top bar is beautiful, especially at night. We ended up there two nights in a row, it really is beautiful and the drinks were reasonably priced. We had a room with a balcony with...

It is hard not to replicate the thoughts of others because the high ratings are all true. Starting with the effortless and extremely friendly check in to the cleanliness and presentation of the rooms to the amazing location, this place is simply the best at what it does. We have stayed at higher rated Athens hotels that were twice the...

We stayed at the Attalos Hotel for 2 nights after the end of a Greek Islands Cruise. The views from our balcony on the 5th floor were amazing! It only cost us 14.00 EU to take a cab from the port to the hotel. We tried to give the cab driver 25, but he refused to take it. You can...

We really enjoyed stunning views and the hotel bar! You dont need to go out at night :-) Barkeeper Violeta was amazing and very friendly. We enjoyed our conversations with Violeta about life in Greece and Athens. Also, Violeta's tips about sightseeing and shopping were very helpful. We would recommend this hotel to the travellers on a budget. Nice and...

Nice old fashioned hotel in a great location within walking distance of all that should be seen in Athens. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean. Feel that breakfast is a bit overpriced-nothing special although the yoghurt with honey is delicious (and I don't like yoghurt!). Great roof terrace where you can gaze on the Acropolis to your heart's content.

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
