The best plus for this hotel is its position right in the heart of Athens. All sight seeing is within walking distance plus you are right at the center of the shopping area. The variety of the breakfast buffet was excellent . Other aspects concerning the hotel are quite of reasonable standards.

I really have nothing bad to say at all about this hotel. We were able to locate the property after taking a bus ride from the airport, and having never been in Athens before. Rooms and hotel were very clean. Everything was within walking distance, the Acropolis etc. and the Metro station was across the square. Strong police presence made...

Cypria is in the center of everything, which is convenient, but also very busy. The breakfast was great--loved the greek coffee and attentiveness of the staff. The front desk staff was also very helpful in setting up car rentals and cabs. The rooms are very basic and clean--no luxuries here. The beds are also very firm which made it difficult...

Great location. Access to room 421 was perfectly fine. Wheel in shower was good and a plastic chair was available. Bed quite hard. Access to breakfast via smaller lift so check chair dimensions for that. Access to room 421 was via two lifts and they were larger than the one I used for breakfast.

My wife and I stayed at Athens Cypria Hotel for four nights. We took an Acropolis view room at the 6th (top) floor. The room was clean and spacious with a nice balcony. The view of the Acropolis was very nice. The double bed was composed of two single beds attached together which was ok but we would prefer one...

I am confused how this hotel gets good reviews. I originally was staying on the 6th or 7th floor but the bed was so uncomfortable (I could feel all the springs) and the air circulation was horrendous in the room. I have never had a problem with allergies in hotels in the US or Europe, but after a two hour...

Stayed here twice on my to and from a Greek island. Missed breakfast both times so can't say anything about that. The location whoever is perfect !! 15m from the main shopping street and close from the train/bus to the airport. There are a few steps from the reception to the elevator which is annoying when you've got a lot...

Arrived after long flight from the US to be told that the hotel didn't have our reservation even though we had e-mail communications with them confirming it. We went through Cheap tickets and got a great rate which the hotel didn't want to honor so they rented our rooms out. When we arrived they had already found us two rooms...

Great value. Good breakfast. Walking distance to most major attractions. Highly recommend this small 4 star hotel. If you need luxury this isn't it. If you want value a a superb location, it is for you. Just around the corner from shopping. 4blocks from syntagma square and the Metro. Ten minutes from the Plaka district and 15 to The Acropolis.

We stayed at the hotel June 5-9 and had 2 rooms. The location is very close to Syntagma Square and right off of Ermou Street (awesome shopping). The rooms are a little dated but roomy (by European standards) and clean. The doors to the rooms are old and they do not shut automatically- you have to actually pull/push them shut...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
