What I liked the most was hotel's location, it is located at the heart of Athens and 2 Min to one of the "Hop On Hop Off" Bus Stops. View from my room(8th floor) and restaurant was gorgeous! staff were very friendly and helpful and there were good services, fine breakfast and clean rooms. But every thing was very old...

The view from the restaurant is amazing! The buffet is also definitely above standard. Honestly best view in Athens. Free wifi in the lobby. Very helpful at the front desk :) rooms very cleaned and maintained.

The hotel is located at the very center of the city. The bathroom must have been recently renovated. The breakfast is ok and served at the top floor, where you can have a wonderful view of Acropolis. I think that it would be much better and cleaner if they removed the carpets and the tapestries from the rooms.

Astor hotel is a basic hotel, in the center of it all. If you want fancy and pampering, look elsewhere. If you want a decent price in the best location- this is the hotel for you. From the publications we knew some rooms have a magnificent view of the Acropolis. We asked for one on our order application, but didn't...

This is a no frills hotel in the centre of Athens. For my family and I it did the job - the air con was working great and not too noisy, the shower was hot and powerful and the room basic, but clean. Yes, it's a little rough around the edges but fine for us as a base to explore...

I would like to say this hotel has a great location, and very helpful staff, good breakfast with a great view of the Acropolis. The hotel can do with some updating. definetly not a 4 star hotel by North American standards, maybe a 3 star. Choose it for its location not its decor.

We spent 4 nights with the family in June 2013. They managed to arrange for all of us to stay in one room which was great due to having our two young children with us (2 & 5 years old). Room was very basic and clean. Air-conditioner worked well. Hotel staff at reception were very friendly and breakfast was great....

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful! I will start off with checking in "early" which went smoothly (a plus during high season), and the service was friendly. Nikkos, one of the hotel staff, was fabulous and very helpful with suggesting places to eat and how to visit Athens during our 1 day stay. The hotel room was clean and...

If you are planning to book a hotel just to spend your nights (post site-seeing) then Astor Hotel is perfect. Rooms: Very small and basic. It has a mini-refrigerator but no refreshments in it. Also no coffee maker in the room. Location: Great location - walking distance to Palaka, Metro station, Museum and shopping area (H&M, Zara, .... ) Breakfast:...

We were pleasantly surprised by the short (10 minute) walk to this hotel from the Metro stop at the Parliament building in Athens. The room was clean and the breakfast was amazing with a beautiful view overlooking the Acropolis. Staff was helpful. Free wifi in lobby.

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
