We had a horrible experience !! We stayed here for just a night and couldn't wait to run out of this place . The owner was terribly rude to us the whole while, I do not understand how people can survive that way in the hospitality business. There is nothing great about this place apart from the location.

Great location..close to metro, acropolis, shopping,Plaka and restaurants. Very clean but small and bath room is tight with hand held shower in basin/toilet area. Lift is just for luggage so not handy for anyone who can't do stairs. Beds were comfortable. Great for budget travelers.

Nothing good except location-it's perfect if you like being in the very center. But I think it is possible to find better around even the same ot very similar economy price. Maybe it would be better if toom were looking to the street but our was to the backyard and very small so room was unplesan dark

This small, clean hotel is in a perfect location - close to restaurants, shopping, the Monistiraki Square and a short walk to the archeological museum and the Plaka. The front rooms overlook the street and a small square with a flower market. The back rooms are very quiet. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. I would definiately...

Upon arrival, we realized the importance of being in a prime location in Athens and Hotel Tempi definitely delivered. It's within walking distance of practically everything and the best part is that the noise is minimal! It's inexpensive and you are not paying much to be in the center of Athens. The people who run the hotel are very friendly...

Very center location, but did not hear that much noise during evening. 24 hours reception, runs by a very friendly and professional family. There are lots of cool bars and restaurants nearby. Walk to Acropolis, Thissio and metro station in 5'. If you are looking for a chic hotel, then this one is not the correct one, but for me,...

This hotel is an excellent value for money. The Acropolis is at walking distance (they have rooms with view), the staff is really nice, always eager to ask about your experiences and last but not least, there is a cheap gyros restaurant down the street. A bit noisy though (it's on a shopping street and there's a church almost in...

27 Euro a night (off season), good reviews and views of the Acropolis right out the window. Just know what to expect: 5 flights of stairs and no elevator, except a small luggage lift. Shared TV, bathroom and shower in the hallway for the less expensive rooms. My first room on the 5th floor was small! About 5 by 10...

Basic service hotel (bed and bath) in the heart of Monastiraki. Ideal place for Athens exploration. The owner and his wife always helpful and kind. Kitchen included if you are in need of the morning coffee. Wifi included.

Staying in Monastiraki

Neighbourhood Profile
Monastiraki is a souvenir-hunting enclave with a difference. Apart from the dramatic backdrop of the Acropolis, its network of alleys and pedestrianized streets surround the remains of both the Greek and Roman agoras, adding the quaint concept that this is where the ancients also came to shop. Named after the tiny monastery church at its center, Monastiraki Square is a lively spot by day or night, with street peddlers vying for your attention to sell you nuts and sweets. Down beside the metro station, the official Flea Market is an unbroken row of souvenir shops until you come to antique-oriented Platia Avissinias, while Pandrossou Street on the other side of the square offers more tourist shopping. The pedestrianized street beside the Greek Agora is lined with cafés offering fine views.
