The area does look a bit shady with all the graffiti but it is like that in Athens everywhere. Being Chinese, we spoke to the local Chinese shop owners around that area and they said the area is pretty safe but to be cautious should always go out with another person. The breakfast is decent and the rooms are very... More

We had a very good experience of staying in the hotel. Sara, the receptionist, was a very charming, friendly and efficient lady who answered all our queries patiently and also called up the bus station to check the timings for buses to Delphi. The location in downtown Athens is good and very safe. It is full of shops run/staffed by... More

Reading the reviews regarding the run-down nature of the area, we hesitated to book; however, the hotel is central and was within our budget so we went ahead. OK, the immediate area suffers from unoccupied buildings, but it is well lit and we never felt unsafe walking back well after dark (we are 60 & 50 years of age). There... More

Hotel was nice, and rooms were good, with soft beds. However the bathroom was too small and no shower curtains were provided, resulting in the floor getting all wet everytime we took a bath. Location was off the main street, so although it was near Monastiraki Square, it still feels a bit shady when it gets dark.

We stayed in the Evripides Hotel at the beginning of February for 3 nights and it was really good choice. The area around hotel looks a bit scary, but it is not as bad as it looks. The first impression may be bad, but believe me it is safe. There is lots of Asian shops, empty houses, lots of graffiti... More

Good hotel for the budget price. Rooms clean and comfortable. Only sit-down shower without curtain which proved interesting! Complimentary breakfast satisfactory. Free WiFi accessible throughout the hotel and a computer is available for use in the lobby. Most attractions within walking distance (fortunate as metro and latterly trams and buses on strike). Staff provided excellent service as well as daily... More

This hotel was priced really well, included breakfast, we had a nice large balcony at our room and the view from the roofdeck was unbeatable. We watched the lights turn on at the monuments across town every night while enjoying cocktails and each other. The neighborhood was fine - to get from the sites to the hotel, and everything we... I really enjoyed my short stay there. Staff is helpful and hotel is close to acropolis (15 minutes walk) and 5 minutes from monastiraki metro station. They helped me arranged renting a car and organize a small tour.
