I had read some bad reviews but thought it can't be that bad ..staff were friendly but observed a lot of rows going on .not a bad area considering Athens is having hard times.. Staff preparing food with a fag in their mouth and generally unhappy looking ..beds were too small as children's beds ..and the sheets had blood stains...

My flight was changed to avoid the possible airline strike which meant I had to find a hotel for the next day. Was able to book Rio Hotel for 2 nights prior to moving to my other hotel around the corner which was full on these nights. The hotel has seen better days but not as bad as previous reviews...

This hotel is the worse hotel we have ever stayed in. It was in a run down part of Athens and a noisy area. The hotel itself was in desperate need of renovation and the bathroom layout was awful. The beds were swamped with bedbugs and we were itching from the first night during our 3 nights stay. The room...

Dirty, unfriendly, basic Breakfast consisted of Bread, ham, cheese & cold coffee. Cups and cutlery were dirty! We would go around the corner to a fantastic bakery called bakery factory every morning for breakfast! I'm sure we had bed bugs as myself, wife and 2 kids were scratching for our complete stay there. So was my sister in-law & family....

We disembarked from Cruise ship and had a late flight. we booked the room from 8am until 5pm. the rate is reasonable 61euros. they have a small restaurant at the entrance. The room is basic, with 3 single beds. Bathroom is very small as the large bath takes most of the space. we enjoyed a relaxing bath after a hot...

The only good things I can tell about the hotel is that staff is very friendly and location is good. Seems like the hotel is past its prime, everything was broken. I tried to open bathroom and knob stayed in my hand, I tried to hang the towel and the hanger felt on the floor, it was hilarious in a...

Reasonably priced and very good location in the heart of Athens with lots of shops around. Very close to the Acropolis & the Acropolis museum. Took us only 35 minutes by car to reach Rafina port. Definitely recommended if you need something central which is not very expensive.

Air conditioning did not work. Water every where in the bathroom whenever we took a shower. Toilet seat broken and no light in bathroom. They promised to fix everything but nothing had been done by the end of the second day. In the end we had to pay extra to change room. Very limited choice on the breakfast. Bread was...

I booked at Rio Hotel online and even before I got the visa to Greece the hotel withdrew US$65 from my visa card. The booking page said that if my booking is cancelled or modified up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. I cancelled my booking 4 days before my date of arrival because I...
