If you are planning a trip to Athens, Greece you must stay at this hotel. It is in a great location but even more the staff is the best. The front desk staff was so friendly and over the top helpful. The hotel is eclectic and fun and very clean! We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and... More

The hotel itself is very interesting from design point of view, it certainly has the 'it' factor. Hotel staff are very professional yet helpful and friendly, they will truly make you feel welcome and special. Food served in this hotel was superb at all meal times. The location of the hotel is very convenient for commute around Athens on foot... More

the rooms are rather small but quite neat. The staff members are smart and helpful. It is right near the centre and close all the sites a tourist would love to visit. The only problem is their penny pinching attempt at not providing drinking water to guests, except on the day of arrival.

Our suite was large, our balcony huge. The food at the restaurant on the 1st floor was excellent. I would recommend the stay. My negative comments are that the room and bathroom furnishing should be upgraded. They do not reflect a 5 star hotel.

I have just returned from a 3 nights stay at this hotel. Staff, Hospitality, Service, Breakfast, Suite were all PERFECT. The lady at the reception upgraded us to a very lovely suite. The only negative side was the location, or the street to be more precise. The location is very near all the attractions (5-10 minutes walking), but the street... More

The Grecotel Pallas Athena is a quirky boutique hotel with unique and funky decor, fantastic breakfast, convenient location, and wonderful staff. We were mostly happy with our 2 night experience other than some issues with the room, noise, and sleep quality (detail below). In all, would recommend despite the issues. Location: conveniently located, walking distance to Monastiraki and all sights,... More

From the moment you arrive the service is impeccable. Iced water is brought to you in the lobby and nuts are available. The staff is pleasant and the property very clean. We ordered a bottle of wine from the restaurant and they brought it to our room with a plate of cheeses and others yummy items. Breakfast was included and... More

Good location, just a short walk from all the main sites. The staff were amazingly welcoming and helpful, way above expectations, from breakfast through to a late evening drink. The dining room has a lovely terrace for breakfast. The bedroom we had was great, too.

Hubby and I stayed at Grecotel for 3 nights about 2 weeks ago. We were first struck by the exceptional service we received at check-in which remained consistent throughout our stay. We stayed one night. They treated us very well. We were upgraded and given sweets and a bottle of champagne. The room was very nice. The breakfast was excellent. Location is close to the center (15 min walk) but not in the greatest area.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
