Stayed overnight on the last day of a holiday in Greece. This hotel is clean, quite modern, reasonably quiet, a very good four-star option only a block from Omonia station. We arrived hot and tired and dusty, so ate in the hotel's rooftop restaurant, something we usually avoid. View of the Parthenon at night not to be missed, even if...

Overall a great stay! Rooms and service was great. Lot's of options for breakfast. Near Metro. The only downside is that Omonoia area isn't clean. There are quite a bit of homeless people around. Also the abandoned building next door doesn't help its image.

First of all very close distance to the Omonia Metro Station. You can get a taxi or take the metro. It will take you 3 minutes walking. The staff very very friendly. The hotel very nice and neat. Room nice and big (for the European standards). They have free breakfast but we never went. The roof garden nice view. For...

Close to the metro, archeological museum and walking distance to Psiri, Plaka and the Acropolis. Buffet breakfast was excellent with many local options. The small fitness centre was a welcome touch for some stretching after 2 days of walking. The beds were comfortable and the hotel clean. Our first room had a broken hair dryer, which in general need replacing,...

Small but nice rooms, good bed's and bathroom. Central and very close to omonia square. Breakfast was more than good and the room rate very reasonable. Recommended warmly. The hotel also had a small café on ground floor and a nice roof terrace open evenings.

I stayed there for 14 days for business purpose. The location is very comfort and its very close to metro station 'Omonoia'. The staff were very polite and I was very pleased with the cleaning services. As a disadvantage, I would say that the breakfast was almost the same for whole stay.

The staff were very kind and helpful! It was very clean, had a big variety in the breakfast buffet and had also a combination of tasty food and nice view in the roof garden. I recommend it. It is situated near the city center of Athens (approx. 15-20 mins walking distance but you can also use the metro)

We stayed at the Polis Grand. A hotel very close to Omonoia Metro Station, just 5 minutes by foot. It is said that Omonoia is a dangerous area to stay at, but we risked it by staying here at the Polis Grand feeling nothing but unsafe. Everything was very nice. The hotel is as shown in the pictures, very cosy,...

This is a nice hotel for the price, but we got in late and they had pushed to twin beds together to make a "king", which is what we requested. It was late and we didn't want to go back down and argue, so they get only a 3 star from us. The breakfast was too expensive and the location...

Gr8 hotel for the money, good staff, good breakfast and dinner; Not so good surroundings at night, but as I have seen this is a general problem in Athens so no minus there. Good location, close to Omonia station, good to walk to tha Acropoles.

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
