Very very clean. The price was really cheap. It was 5 min walk to Monastiraki metro station but İ never use it for Athens it is max15-20 to everywhere. I definitely recommend it to anyone traveling solo. Staff were lovely.

Great hotel for Athens. My boyfriend and I stayed there for two nights in August 2012 while we visited Athens. It felt very safe (both the neighborhood and the building/hotel itself) and the staff were very friendly. Also, they had no problem with a quite early check in. The room was very clean and overall we were very pleased with...

I booked and got exactly what was advertised plus a cheerful staff, map and pointers for the city. The neighbourhood looked dodgy but it was walking distance to all the main sites and we paid two or three times less money for our rooms than what we would've paid on the other side of Acropolis. I much prefer to look...

Very good value for money and conveniently placed to discover Athens. The staff were very friendly as well and helped us out on numerous occasions. Easy walking distance to Monasteraki metro, all three main squares and the Acropolis. Rooms were clean and comfortable, great for the price.

This is a 1 star hotel andby people's reviews you'd think they are expecting a 3-4 star. The area is not as bad as people say. If you go further away from the main square it gets bad and fast, but Athens is going through something and if you walk around knowing to watch your stuff anywhere you will be...

Not so bad clean and calm, friendly and chip. Near acropolis and syntagma square and all the interest place and near the metro station ...but I think it's just for a night. The room is little and the conditioned Air doesn't work so well. That's all! :)

Staff was very polite and helpful! Location walking distance from Metro and sites. Worth the value for the service. Nice room, AC, bath small but adequate for needs, would stay again for sure.

The good points of this hotel are the price, the location and the staff. The bad points are everything else. It is small, creepy and old building. The room are cleans but very tiny (6-8 square meters). The bathroom is almost none existent. I had my shower directly beside the toilet with no separation, soaking of the floor is, therefore,...

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
