My family and I stayed there. Plaka is so beautiful and the location of the hotel made us really easy to visit other places as Monastiraki, Syntagma Square, Gazi, Kolonaki and many others( it is located really close to Metro). Beautiful and comfortable hotel, friendly staff with reasonable rates. Recommend it, especially for family holidays!

Stayed at the Nefeli in March 2013 with 5 friends for 3 nights. We had 3 doubles on the 3rd floor. As we only paid £50 each for 3 nights I have to be fair and say that for the price it was good. The rooms were clean and made up every day. The beds were confortable. Rooms have good...

Let me start with saying that this is an extremely basic accommodation, it will suit a traveler that is looking for a place to sleep and to keep their belongings safe while in Athens. This is not for someone that is used to staying even in a 3 star establishments. Nefeli does have potential to be at least a 3...

I had a great stay at Nefeli hotel and would definitely stay there again! Excellent location in the tourist area of Plaka, close to the metro, Acropolis and buses to Piraeus and the airport. Basic hotel, but clean and excellent staff. I was a bit apprehensive going to Athens with the the countries issues right now, but the people working...

I stayed at the hotel 2 nights in June. the staff was very nice, the location is very good but the hotel is very old and in need of renovation, the AC had a bad smell from it so we didn't use it and was drained into the bathtub which wasn't very clean. if your backpacking solo or with friends...

Really liked this hotel. The staff were great! They were very helpful and friendly. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The breakfast was included and was, again, basic but yummy :) The location couldn't be better. It's right in the Plaka district so is a stones throw away from restaurants etc. it is also a 10-15 walk to...

Spent one night in this hotel and we were really happy with this choice. The location is great - in the middle of Plaka, Athen's old town, close to all pedestrian streets. We picked it especially for it being close to Acropolis hill so we wouldn't have to walk much in the morning - you would want to do that...

The location of Hotel Nefeli is perfect for short walks to the Acropolis and great restaurant options. The owner is friendly and makes you feel welcome. He also has great recommendations on places to eat great food no matter what your tastes. The rooms are basic but the furnishings are in good shape and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The...

we were there in the beginning of August. it is a very small hotel with BB and it's clean. we paid 20 euro per person per night and the hotel has a great location; very near to Acropolis, Monastraki, and Plaka! transportation to the airport or Pireaus port is also very easy from the hotel.

The Hotel Nefeli is in Plaka, on a street that runs parallel to Kidathenaeion St. The street is not particularly noisy as the majority of tourists wander down the parallel street. It is a family -run hotel and the owners are extremely helpful. There is A/C and a lift, and prices are cheap in comparison ot other hotels in the...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
