Location Beautiful, landscaped grounds. Stunning location. Unfortunately, private beaches have sparse, gritty sand. Bungalows on the right get the best afternoon sun. Lots of good restaurants around the lake, if you choose the bed and breakfast board option.

Its an amazing hotel in the heart of Agios Nikolaos. Green huge gardens are surrounding the hotel, full of outdoor pieces of art. The bungalow that I stayed was in front of one of the many small beaches of the hotel.Quite spacious modern and huge bathroom. The food was superb and the staff extremely friendly and polite. Definitely a MUST...

Very nice hotel, with excellent beachfront location. Stayed in a beachfront superior bungalow with private sundeck only shared with the neigbouring bungalow. Generally good quality on building and fittings, but be prepared for some small flaws in maintenance. No big issue though. A bigger issue is that the indeed very nice tree outside the bungalow totally blocks all sun to...

Relaxed, quiet, beautiful resort. Ideal for couples retreat. Spa is fantastic, massage by Marina was excellent, she is a talented and skilled masseuse. Restaurants and bars at the resort are very good, with piano evenings - it was just perfect.

We have just returned from our 4th visit in 4 years, and whilst we still love the hotel, ground, staff and service, have a few small niggles that will probably make us give the hotel a miss for a couple of years. The grounds and pool are lovely, but the sunbeds are getting rather old and many are broken on...

We liked every aspect of the Minos Beach hotel. There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like. The staff, the location, the beautiful scenery, the gardens, the rooms were all excellent. It has to be one of the most attractive hotels we have ever visited, set in exquisite scenery. I particularly liked the art work around the grounds, which served as...

Had an amazing 5 nights stay at this hotel! It actually felt like a boutique hotel as at times you can find the beaches to yourself and as each room is like a little house, guests weren't on top of each other. Lots of privacy, great Cretan food and really well located near the Cretan Olive Oil Farm, nearby beaches...

This was an early season stay and even though all of the restaurants were not yet open it was superb. The excellent rooms were set throughout the gardens which incorporated many art installations, with views over the bay at Agios Nikolaos and over to the mountains. The private beaches were a bonus. We had a birthday while we were there...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Minos Beach art hotel has been influenced by the traditional architectural style of fishermen’s villages of Eastern Crete. One storey, whitewashed bungalows and villas with terraces and minimal interiors are almost touching the sea. The unique environs of the hotel with its sumptuous gardens and narrow stone paved streets host the 45 works of Greek and foreign artists. In the eastern part of Crete, only a ten-minute walk from the town centre of Agios Nikolaos and a 45-minute drive from the airport of Heraklion. Exquisite decoration features, minimalist forms and Feng-Shui elements enriched by the Greek aesthetics of cotton and wood, handcrafted details, candles and water syntheses, create unique spaces and corners, making your stay in Minos Beach unforgettable. For a truly VIP experience at Minos Beach, we offer one presidential villa and three executive villas with private swimming pools, as well as exclusive bungalows that are literary “caressing” the sea. ... more   less
