Have just spent 10 days here and cannot fault this hotel. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Efficiently run and very clean. Breakfast was basic continental but plentiful. Beach staff kept sun beds clean and tidy. Location was perfect right on the beach, about 20 mins walk to harbour along pleasant sea front. Would definitely stay here in the...

We've just returned from a weeks stay at Danaos Hotel which we enjoyed very much. The location, right on the beach, is fantastic - we had a balcony where we watched the beautiful sunset each evening. The hotel is clean and very well run. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Breakfast is a simple help yourself buffet with a...

Stayed for a night at this hospitable hotel. Would have given it 5 stars had the rooms not had the tacky tubelights. The location by the beach and very proximate to the Old Venetian port and generous hospitality is what wins it for the hotel big time. If ever in Chania next time, I now have a good economic hotel...

We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Location is right beachfront. The beach is decent, but can get crowded during high season as it's quite small. There are also plenty of restaurants in the area and a shop market nearby. As it was still low season for most travelers, the hotel, beach and restaurants in the area were relatively...

I was recently lucky enough to have a few days holiday in Charnia.I decided to stay at Danaos Hotel because when I was there 2 years before I stayed in town but used to walk to this beach for lunch and sunbathing. The hotel is right on the front with great views from your room...make sure you ask for a sea...

I was born(lots of years ago), 200 yards away from this small paradise of a family-run hotel. Then it was the owners parents home, but now you get the best views from the front balconies in the whole of town. Beautiful and clean beach, warm sea and to top it all, everyone at the Hotel can't do enough to please...

Great location right on Papanicoli beach and a leasurely 10 minute walk to the port and all the bars and restaurants. Note, if you hire a car, you cannot drive into the old town after 11am in Summer. Therefore staying in the port area can be difficult. But this location is the best solution. Ensure you book a room with...

This is a no frills Hotel in the most excellent spot, directly in front of the sandy beaches of Chania. Deck chairs with brollies available, some with drinks service and food. Excellent swimming from early till late in a warm sea. Take snorkel and flippers and look for colourful fish! Delightful walk from Hotel to Town where you find many...

Dananos is a fantastic place to stay while in Hania. The hotel is 10 meters from a beautiful beach, and the people are very friendly and helpful. The price is also fantastic given the location. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes or so walking to the old Venetian Harbor. It is a bit removed from the chaos of downtown Hania,...

We stayed at the Danaos for 4 nights (£40pn room only twin, booked through Booking.com). Despite having been to Chania several times before, we were previously unaware of Nea Chora beach, just a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Decided to give it a try & I’m glad we did. The Danaos is a typical family-owned basic 2/3 Star...
