Our first ever visit to Greece/Crete/Rethymno … and what a lovely experience it turned out to be. OK, we arrived a day late after the extreme weather on 15 October led to our flight from UK being delayed until the following day. But the Hotel anticipated that problem, and kept our reservation open. And so we settled in to Suite 14, the Spa Suite on the ground floor just behind the lobby of the Rimondi Estate part of this 2-part hotel. There we found a welcoming platter and a refreshing drink. Spacious, beautifully equipped and spotlessly clean, we had the added [and personally essential] benefit of an outside space where we could smoke, with chairs, table and hot-tub . Breakfast was excellent, with a huge variety of sweet/savoury and hot/cold options. The location, submerged in the warren of narrow lanes in Old Town, was the perfect base for exploring on foot. A 7-day Grocery Store just 110 metres north up Xanthoudidou St. allowed us to top up our room’s mini fridge with some essentials, such as Cretan wine! The area around the Hotel is full of Restaurants, and we found one that suited us ideally just 50 metres away on the same street! There’s little need to add more, as other reviews have said it already. Friendly, helpful staff just completed the picture. I’ll just add that within a month of getting home we have re-booked for 2023 … in the Master Suite! We just love this place!…
This was the third time we stayed at the Rimondi Boutique Hotels in the old town of Rethimnon, and we were thrilled again. Everything is excellent here, the hardware and the software. We had a spacious room right next to the pool in the western building, the former oil mill, perfectly equipped. The breakfast is legendary as we decribed it in our former reviews. The location is amidst zhe old town, you have to go ca. 300 m from the nearest parking (Fortezza parking, tell them that you are Rimondi guest for the length of your stay and you will a rebate on the day tickets). Rimoni boutique hotels are surrounded by many restaurants, you have the "agony of choice". And the Software! We enjoyed a perfect service and a wonderful atmosphere during our stay in September. Be it Eleni, Evangelia, Yiannis, Stella, Megi and all the others whose names we don't know -- all of you contributed to awesome holidays. And a particular Thank You goes to the perfect nurse Megi who professionally applied the wound dressing of the hurt toenail several times and thus accelerated the recovery. We can recommend the Rimondi Boutique Hotels without any reservation. We are already looking forward to our next stay …
Last minute booking, weather turned nasty in Crete while we were visiting, not so good for our beach resort so we headed for nearby Rethymno. Lively narrow streets with shops, bars and restaurants. A bottle of wine later we booked into this hotel. Very central in the old town beside the historic fountain of the same name. Lots of character in the hotel, welcome drinks and friendly staff. Our split level room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast included. We literally just slept, breakfast and left. Top marks though.
An absolute hidden gem of a property. An oasis of calm in the bustling Old Town with outstanding service in every area. Wonderful staff throughout, who do everything possible to make your stay exceptional - and they succeed. Great location, fabulous service and lovely accommodation - would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to anyone. Thank you Rimondi Boutique Hotel for a fabulous stay
We have come to the Rimondi once or twice every year since 2015, which I think speaks for itself. Its most precious asset is the staff, all of whom go out of their way to make you feel welcome. From managers Yiannis and Eleni, through to Evaggelia, Meggi, Mihalis and 'the diamond man himself' (Diamondis, he of the fabulous moustache!), they are the hardest working people who really want you to feel relaxed and comfortable. The housekeeping staff, including Georgia and Roula, take a huge amount of pride in keeping everything spotlessly clean. Being a boutique hotel, the rooms vary in style and size, but all are comfortable. The hotel straddles both sides of a small street in the very heart of Rethymno Old Town, and you are minutes away from the bustling shops and restaurants. The included breakfasts are fab. It's buffet, help-yourself style on the Palazzo side, and table service plus buffet on the Estate side (where the bigger suites are). There is plenty to cater for all tastes including fruits, breads (various types), yoghurt, cereal, cold meats, hot foods and eggs. And of course unlimited coffee, tea and fruit juices. It's the perfect start to the day. We're just heading home to Scotland but already we're working on when we can come back here again. We love this place and the amazing people (as you can tell!), and would be happy to answer anyone's questions on it.…
It was a great pleasure to return to the Rimondi after two years that have been so difficult for individuals and businesses all over the world. It is a hotel that we have visited many times in the past and the staff make us feel as welcome as old friends. It is such a relaxing atmosphere we always want to return. We spent three weeks travelling in Crete this year (making up a little for lost time), bookended by stays at this lovely hotel. It is a little gem in the lovely old town of Rethymnon and very much not an anonymous resort hotel. Every room is different and has its own charms. Several of the “superior rooms” have private balconies or you can relax in the beautiful courtyard areas. We plan to return again soon, all being well.
We are on day 4 of a 14 day stay and I am already happy to write a review saying just how excellent this hotel really is. Located in the heart of the old town yet close enough to everywhere to make everything convenient. The rooms are very well furnished with comfortable beds and good linen. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful and the hotel staff are friendly, kind, helpful and professional. Every single person we have come across does everything they can to make us welcome and comfortable. A first rate hotel.
A beautiful hotel in the heart of the old town area of Rethymnon. The rooms are all lovely, and the breakfast, although advertised as "continental", was excellent and quite extensive. But it's the staff that set this little gem of a place apart from other hotels. They were all so kind and charming - nothing was too much trouble. One small word of warning - some of the rooms are on two floors which, if you are a little bit unstable on your feet, could be a bit of a problem. Check before you book. Apart from that, this place is charming and quite unique.
10 day stay for 2. the welcome was warm and the friendly staff make the whole stay feel special. the bed was comfy and the room well appointed and equipped ( we had one of the maisonettes). the fact that the hotel is small and split up on 2 sides of the street made it feel more intimate and personal without ever being intrusive. Just a lovely place to relax and unwind
We are returning guests to this wonderful hotel. We never tire of this fabulous place. It is perfectly placed in a quiet little street in the heart of the old town. I have reviewed this hotel before and all the positives of location, ambience etc are still there. It’s a great little hotel, but the best thing about it is the amazing staff. As always, throughout our stay the staff were warm, welcoming, friendly, engaging and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It really was like going back to see friends. The hotel is spotlessly clean ( restaurant area, pool area, reception ) and the rooms are cleaned and serviced on a daily basis to a high standard. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast which is table service and very good. There are no shortage of fabulous restaurants and tavernas within a very short walk to eat and drink at lunch time and dinner. This hotel really is worth booking into if you are staying in Rethymnon and want to be close to the harbour and right in amongst the charm of the old town. We look forward to returning here once again in the not too distant future.…
