The location was great but I really cannot rave enough about the staff! During each encounter (checking in, asking about local restaurants, transportation and sights, breakfast and checking out) the staff were brilliant. Fluent in English and very informed about the city. Each time we dealt with someone different but there was always a kind face ready to help any...

A hotel which cannot fullfil the expextation comming with the name "Grand Hotel". Old and unr-down, it needs to be fully renivated and modernized. Small rooms with dated equipment. Service personnel has to be exchanged. The only plus there is, it the relatively good location. all in all, a major disappointment. Lodging at 2-star-level at overpriced rate.

Really disappointed with our stay here, far from the 4* described. Very drab and outdated. Very close to Tivoli less than 2 minute walk but a real 30 minute hike to Nyhavn where all the bars etc are. Very clean and staff friendly, but nothing special. Would look elsewhere next time.

Positives: friendly staff, good location Anticipated: small room, no coffee/tea facilities, no room safe, tired decor Below expectation: toilet had bad smell and noises coming from the plumbing, unpleasant. Unexpected extra charge of 200dkk per night for child despite no extra bed (only an extra blanket and towel). Overall this is below the standard you would find in a budget...

The location was very central. I booked the cheapest small double room for a one night stay for a business trip including breakfast. The room was clean, bathroom was clean, plenty of towels. It was very simple but good value and just what I was looking for. Breakfast was excellent and had a great selection on offer. I will happily...

This hotel is located in a perfect location in the centre of town, just up from the meatpacking district. The room was basic but clean with a spacious bathtub shower. If your Danish isn't good don't worry, all the staff speak very good English however you might struggle with the TV channels (only CNN available which drives you mad after...

The hotel is in a perfect for location for tourists. 5 mins from the central station which has trains direct to airport and transfers cost only 37 kroner (under £5) and take only 15mins. It is also near to Trivoli gardens and the main town square and shopping stretch. Staff at the hotel were polite and rooms were clean but...

Came here to visit the Christmas Markets. The hotel is located only a stones throw from the Tivoli Gardens which were fantastic and a must see. The train station is only 5 minutes walk, but you don't hear it, making it easy to get to and from the airport. All of the Christmas markets are easily reached on foot too as...

I was in Copenhagen for a 1 day business meeting and came in the night before and wanted a relatively cheap hotel within a few minutes walk from my office and close to the central station. This is why I ended up with the Grand and I should say upfront that if it was not for the friendly staff and...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
