The staff were friendly, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the rooms had a quirky feel, with four poster beds and 'organic' environmentally friendly style furnishings. The bathroom units could have been slightly better designed, but it was still nice to be in something a little different from the normal cookie cutter hotels.

Just stayed in the Axel Guldsmeden for a weekend break. Lovely room, spotlessly clean and super comfy bed. The hotel was beautifully relaxed and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Location is perfect for those wanting to see the city - close to nice bars and restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to Central Station for airport link. Would highly...

Traveling with our new baby and two little dogs, but still seeking a trendy, fun, but relaxed vibe, the Axel was the perfect fit. The lobby bar and small dining room are cozy and cool. I wanted to cook in that beautiful open organic kitchen, fresh herb plants everywhere! Our double superior room was bigger than expected after reading reviews,...

This place is great! Fantastic restaurant and bar area, great food. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very good sizes and the four poster beds are huge and so comfortable! The spa is delightful and I'd highly recommend heading down there for some chill time! Great location, 5 minute walk from the train station and 20...

Awesome beds. Every morning we woke up thinking we slept fantastically well. The hotel was very quiet during the night hours, but there was a cozy bustling atmosphere during the evening in the bar. The staff was the friendliest we've ever met. Hands down. They guided us effortlessly to good restaurants, good walks, good shopping. Smiling, flexible, friendly, knowledgeable. And...

Just returned from a great two days in Copenhagen. Hotel is in a great location, 5 minute walk from train station & also 5 mins walk from the meat packing district. Has a lovely cosy vibe, with a quirky lounge & bar area. Room was small, nice theme with four poster bed, good quality duvets, organic toiletries & towels. Loved...

Probably the best part of the whole trip! More than a hotel but a cosy shelter full of surprises. Definitely a perfect choice for experience seekers who enjoy a cosy, relaxed & eco-friendly environment. Everything from the soaps, to the towels and the food (delicious breakfast buffet!) was ecological & organic. We loved our room the second we stepped in!...

Stayed here numerous times. Definitely my favourite hotel in Copenhagen. Great decor, great bathroom products, delicious breakfast and a great location. Only point I would give is for towels- please, please can you change to fluffy ones! It's a minor request though.

Really liked the overall zen feel of this boutique hotel. The rooms are super cosy and don't feel like hotel rooms even though they do have all the amenities you"d expect. The staff are lovely and relaxed and the location is great! Overall a pleasant stay. The only downside is the restaurant which serves small plates and where I felt...

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
