Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Had a free room upgrade as my husband’s birthday and the room was very comfortable with fab toiletries. The bed was a little soft for my taste but this is just a preference. The area is great for restaurants and also walking distance to most attractions. We hired bikes from the hotel for the day which was really easy. Would definitely recommend.

Plus points of this hotel : 1. definitely location - it is close to center so in 10 -15 minutes walk you arrive to train station, Town Hall and then shopping road . Lovely Vientaneme and Mexican local restaurant just 10 meters away. 2. main areas such as reception and bar are having nice appearance with quirky design and lot of plants, pleasant, 3. they are showing they are sustainable , 4. 2 girls at reception were nice - not extremely service oriented but very pleasant and helped with requests , 5. bathroom amenities are sustainable and with very nice perfume (still does not justify price of 25EURO per bottle but was nice) Disliked · 1. room - the fact that it is small does not bother us as we are out a lot as every tourist. It was more that it was worn out (from all furniture to walls and tiles in bathroom ). Just a hanging hook shower curtain which also seemed old and really visually not appealing . 2 AC - perhaps our error but I sort of expected that 170USD per night covers AC as basic but it did not, only an old fashioned fan in the wardrobe (whose doors opens with some difficulty). Day time was really hot ( we were at top 5th floor under roof) , so we decided to go out whole day and at night was ok as start of September night temperature was around 18. Not sure how this was during hot july and august and if possible to sleep if hot. If no AC is a sustainability factor ( plus not wanting to invest in AC's) perhaps just they need to be clearer . 3. cleanliness - we arrived at 11;30 and room was ready at 3 pm as they were in cleaning process. That is fine, we used time to go out and start visiting city. We did get room after 3 pm however cleaning was not the greatest . Noticed hair in middle wardrobe cupboard , dust on the bottom one , tiles in bathroom not cleaned well or so aged that it is not possible. But next to the toilet there were white stains on tiles which were removable. Some training and better control suggested. Tissue box not replaced , left empty with few tissues at the bottom 3. TV was not connected also which we realized as the cable (with dust on) was hanging under the TV. We advised reception , somebody came within 1 hr to fix it. 4. elevator - very old elevator by the looks of it and way it functions - sort of jumps up and down whilst in use so a bit scary . Does not seem safe even though maybe it is , surely something to budget to change. 5. value for money - yes we did book on special rate of 170USD (so usually is more) and did not expect luxury but basic rooms are a tad too basic, some investment needed in rooms ( tiles, shower curtains, squeeky cupboard furniture) , AC, elevator and cleaning training We are rather easy going and like to try new things , but were bit disappointed. There was a feeling that either there were too much savings or hotel is not managed well in terms of maintanance and upkeeping. We are hoteliers , so just our opinion from that point of view. Could be really cute place though

Dear Barbara, Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review of your stay at this hotel. Your feedback is valuable not only for potential future guests but also for the hotel management to make improvements. Here's a response addressing your points: Location: We're delighted to hear that you found our hotel's location convenient and within walking distance of key attractions. Being close to the city center is something we take pride in, and we're glad it contributed positively to your stay. Design and Sustainability: We're glad you appreciated the quirky design and our commitment to sustainability. Creating a pleasant and eco-friendly atmosphere is essential to us, and we're pleased you noticed and valued it. Reception: We appreciate your kind words about our reception staff. We strive to provide a warm and helpful atmosphere. Bathroom Amenities: Thank you for your feedback on our sustainable bathroom amenities. We take note of your comment about the price, but at the same time we want to assure you that the prices reflects the product. Room Condition: We sincerely apologize for the wear and tear you experienced in your room. Your feedback regarding furniture, walls, and the bathroom will be reviewed by our maintenance team for necessary improvements. We understand that a comfortable room is a crucial part of your stay. Air Conditioning: We're sorry for any confusion regarding the air conditioning. To clarify, in Denmark and other Scandinavian countries, air conditioning is not a mandatory feature in many locations. This is in line with the local climate and is also driven by environmentally friendly considerations. But due to the previous couple of years increased heating, we will conciser it might being necessary for future improvements. Cleanliness: We deeply regret that you didnt find your room to be as clean as expected upon your arrival. This is not up to our standards, and we will have a deeper look into this specific situation. TV and Elevator: We apologize for the inconvenience you faced with the TV and elevator. Your feedback has been shared with the appropriate teams for immediate attention and rectification. This is an older house, and the elevator reflects its age. Nevertheless, I can assure you that it undergoes regular maintenance and meets all necessary safety standards, ensuring it is not a safety concern in any way. Value for Money: We appreciate your concerns regarding the value for money, and we value your honest feedback. However, our pricing is based on market demand and supply, as well as the value we provide. Our pricing is determined strictly by our revenue department. Once again, we want to express our gratitude for sharing your input, and we hope that our response will also be helpful to you Kind regards Matilde and Carlton 66 Guldsmeden

It was very eco-centric! The room was well stocked with all you needed - the regular hotel things like bath and hand washes, but also had lovely oils, combs, tooth brush and tablet tooth paste. The balcony was welcome, as the room was kind of small, so it made it feel less claustrophobic. The room was small. You couldn't really move astound easily in it. You could also hear the sound from the other rooms. The lift was very bouncy and left me feeling dizzy on arrival to my floor. 😵

This was my third time staying here and the last. First two stays, a few years ago, were fantastic…..this hotel must be run by new owners or like because it’s totally different now. Very run down; the room a disgrace - like a storage room that was made into a very dark and uninviting bedroom. Shower curtain is just “a piece of plastic hung up by two metal hooks that keep falling out”. Very very expensive - a big ripoff. The reception staff were very good except for one female who was exceptionally rude and ignorant. Very very disappointing.

Friendly staff and good use of furniture in the boutique rooms in this old building make it a very cosy hotel to stay in with a good vibe. Our room had plenty space for a 4 day stay and we got a good sleep in a comfortable bed. Breakfast saw a very attractive array of food and drink for a small hotel. Good sustainability/environmental initiatives from the owning group as well. It’s a convenient location 10 minutes’ walk from the central station and the surrounding area is good for amenities and such like. But it was not without a few minor gripes. It took us almost 20 minutes to check in. Two customers ahead of us in the queue both had booking issues and they obviously got the attention of the single member of staff. It seemed like the system (only one terminal) was on go slow. It was tedious. The meagre rations in the room of tea and coffee disappointed. One 15 ml coffee crème each for a large mug (you may as well have your coffee black), one sachet of sugar each, etc. we left a note asking for more and were left more. But next day back to the same, minimal provision. The bathroom was pretty poorly lit (nowhere decent to do make up) and also had a really annoying shower curtain that stuck to you. The sustainability piece was not completely joined up. We could find no sink for the plug so had to run water, which was a waste. Toilet paper was so thin that you have to use three times the amount (and much better quality toilet paper in a sister hotel we stayed at later). Also, why are you using single use plastic milk/cream pots for tea/coffee? Provide this in re-usable thermo-flasks! The lift – well, you feel like you’re taking your life into your own hands every time you get in it, lurching and bouncing its way up and down. A good stay, but still a bit of room for improvement.

It is allways our choice when we are in KPH. This time we found that it was very worn and a bit run down. Paint was rubbed off the doors and unfortunately they haven't done anything about it being very noisy. You hear everything, slamming doors etc. The area is the best, still with great restaurants and good shopping. The beds are hard- wich we love

What an absolute gem of an hotel. As soon as we stepped inside, there was a sense of calmness - just what you need after a long journey. The decor is quirky, colourful and unusual - we loved it. The room was a good size and was spotless, with a great range of eco-friendly toiletries. The bed was large and really comfortable, with lovely soft pillows. If we'd been staying longer, we'd have probably needed more hangers, but I'm sure that wouldn't have been a problem. We loved the fact that everything was eco-friendly - it really contributed to our enjoyment. Breakfast was delicious - a huge range of foods - and again, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff, including the reception staff, were extremely helpful and approached everything with a cheery smile, and it was so relaxed. The location is perfect - in a popular part of Copenhagen, with cafés, bars and interesting shops all around. Thank you 66 Guldsmeden - we will be back I'm sure - and would love to try some of your other hotels too, if ever we visit those locations!

Stayed for 3 days , Wednesday midday to Friday afternoon in December, in a double balcony with bath room 133 . The bed was comfortable , room was warm with adjustable radiator , kettle , large tv , most excellent bathroom with bath and separate shower . Very good range of toiletries. Good number of power sockets. Balcony with 2 chairs and a table . Enough wardrobe space / hanging rail for a few days.very nice duvet , and good pillows Points to note , even though there is a lift from entrance , you have to be able to carry your luggage up or down stairs to get to or from reception Do try their own mulled wine in winter , best we have tasted

Regarding the elevator, it stops at all the floors so it is not necessary to carry the luggage, however we will of course gladly help you with the luggage another time. We are glad that you enjoyed our popular traditional “gløgg”, we hope we can serve it to you again for next Christmas. Best wishes, Carlton 66
