Island Hotel is not located in the centre of the city, which is good for my preference. It's a knit and quiet area but very accessible. It's about 500mtrs from the bus stop which will take about 10mins to Strøget, the most famous shopping area, also Tivoli Garden. And about 1km from the train station. Then there's a giant mall...

Each of the over 70 stays at the hotel was a real delight, great service and the welcoming friendly smile of the staff made the hotel feel almost like a second home. Located just one stop away from the main station, next to the biggest shopping mall in Copenhagen, 10-15 minutes walking distance from Stroget and... standing on water it...

I stayed at this hotel for a short business trip. The hotel is brand-new, stands in a row with other newly-constructed office and shopping venues at the location of the old fish market. It is directly on the waterfront and next to a rather busy through-road. Rooms are modern, although rather small size and very soft beds. A straight, clean...

Thank you for your kind review and for staying here for your night in Copenhagen. Thank you for mentioning our bike rental. Even though you were here in January, it has so been quite mild considering that January is a winter month. You are most welcome to come back and stay here during the summer! I stayed there for three days, combining business and pleasure. I must say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is really amazing, the entire concept is just perfect. It is though a little far from the city with not very good public transport, so I had to walk...

What do you do if all your favourite 4*hotels are too expensive in the chosen dates? This is a nice alternative. 20 min walk from the center, confortable rooms, and in general high standard. Nordic modern architecture on the canal next to shopping center and movie theater. I appreciated the 200K gift card for food and drinks in the hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel several times on business trips where I normally stay 3-4 nights each time. As for hotels in Denmark rooms are a bit small but this hotel has decorated the room nicely to use its space in the best way. Soft but comfortable bed. If you have a room towards the water then you have...

It was a nice place to stay. The room was very modern and comfortable, although there was a problem with overheating. We reported this to reception in the morning and though we were assured this would be fixed during the day it wasn't. When we reported it again, they did send an engineer and then offered to move rooms. It's...

We had stayed at Copenhagen Island a few years ago and were happy then. My wife found an attractive offer for the days after Christmas, but upon arrival we succumbed to the temptation to upgrade. Indeed, the rooms on the water-side have a much better view than the standard rooms on the boring road side. This way, we were able...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
