My partner and I needed a quick stopover for the night on our way back to Durban. At R700 for a chalet...we didn't expect luxury, but at least decent amenities. Firstly, the shower's drain was broken so we found ourselves standing in deep puddle after only showering for 2 minutes. Needless to say, the puddle hadn't drained the next morning....

The accommodation at Hanover Country Lodge is certainly not of the highest standard, but the character of the hotel (especially the pub) and the town as a whole, more than compensates. Service is friendly and prompt, and the food on offer is nore than acceptable. If you visit in the summer months, do pack mosquito repellent: they'll keep you up...

We usually stay in Three Sisters on our way from JNB to CTP but this time we opted for Hanover and what a great choice! The Hanover Lodge was brilliant. The staff was super friendly, the bed was comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the bar was a blast (ask the bartender to sing you a song - he is incredible!)....

This is still a great stopover in the middle between Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is not a 5 star hotel, however, the rooms are clean with the necessary facilities. The food is good, like mom cooked at the farm, and the service is friendly. It was extremely hot in Hanover and the aircons did not work in the dinning...

Very old hotel, comfortable beds but old dilapidated furniture. Anbiance was interesting, bar had a lot of memorabilia but seriously overpriced. Dinner was okey Karoo keg of lamb rice and real gravy pampoenkoekies ( pumkin fritters) roast potatoes and green beans. Pudding malva with custard and icecream for R130. They cater for people with dogs. I must say what they...

Looking for a place to sleep over between Gauteng and Plettenberg Bay, friends recommended this hotel. We only arrived 8.30pm, but the owner and staff were waiting for us. We could park our car safely across the road and could choose to eat in the very interesting bar or beautiful old-world dining room. We were told about the great schnitzel...

Hanover is the perfect half-way stop on a road trip between Cape Town and Johannesburg, and the Hanover Lodge is a good choice. It is an old-style country hotel that has been given a makeover - our room had a small lounge with a fridge and kettle as well as an en-suite bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful....

Needed a place to spend the night on route to Cape Town, was not expecting much but were we pleasantly surprised. We were met by the Manager/Barman/Waiter/Handyman and general all round employee. Our room was a bungalow and although it needed a bit of an upgrade it was comfortable and clean. Dinner was in the main hotel and very tasty...

Our family are no strangers to budget accomodation, you take the little faults in your stride because you are not paying 5* prices. However when the list of faults pile up you regret not paying more for decent accomodation! Half the lights weren't working, tv was broken, no showerhead, towels had holes, bedding was faded - I can go on......
