We were in Glashus for a few days. The first impression was good. Unfortunately, the second was less good. It was very hot in Stockholm and our room was consistently over 30 degrees on our demand it was called air conditioning is not standard in...More
Others have already mentioned the oppressive heat, lack of airflow, and noisy street, so I won't dwell on those particulars. Through no fault of their own, Stockholm was simply unbearably hot. As a result, the hotels were unprepared. No fans available for purchase anywhere in...More
We were originally going to spend 5 nights here, but due to Sweden’s heat wave and the hotel’s lack of air conditioning or fans, we had to cancel after two nights and move somewhere else. The rooms are lovely, if tiny and lacking any space...More
We had a fantastic few days in Stockholm and Hellstens Glashus was a big part of that.
Great location, easy access from Central station after getting the Arlanda Express. Mariatorget is a few stops from Central and hotel is right next to Mariatorget station. Was...More

The location near Mariatorget just south of Gamla Stan is perfect for exploring Stockholm. We walked everywhere rather than getting the T-bana - it was 15 mins into Gamla Stan, and about 40 mins across to the Vasamuseet. The hotel itself was really nice -...More

This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park
or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.

The breakfast buffet is available (just walk down and help yourself) until 10:00 am daily and about an hour later on the weekends. There are hotel staff tending to the buffet and keeping the selections replenished. Don't hesitate to ask them for anything you need. For instance, the hotel had gluten free bread for toast, but it was not out. They were happy to make my toast to order. One morning they were out of soft boiled eggs when I went to breakfast, but they kindly made two for me. Enjoy your time in Stockholm!
