If old Stockholm is your target you cannot beat the location. No view of the water is the only negative relative to location. Antiques every where lend to an interesting vibe to an old hotel. We thought the bedding was not the greatest and the carpet needed updating. Overall the hotel worked fine our stay in Stockholm but would look...

This hotel is as central as can be possible in Stockholm, in the Old Town. It is situated in buildings that has origins from the 15th century, and in the relax/sauna department in the cellar is an old well. Very narrow medieval streets surround the building. The hotell is crammed with ship models and other nautica. The rooms are party...

The hotel has this typical beautiful, boutique and antique taste. Its location is excellent choice, so close to the royal palace and the Nobel museum, besides Breakfast is great. Most of all, the staff are all so sweet and polite with good manner, we will never forget the helpful, pleasant and polite receptionist there.

At the moment my mother and I are sitting in room 30 of the Lady Hamilton Hotel, waiting for it to stop raining and for check-out time. As far as I can see, The Lady Hamilton sells itself on being well located (which is true) and combining the quaint / antique / oldy-worldy / quirky with supposedly modern comfort. That's...

I was there in the Prastgatan apartment four nights in July-August. Staff is very nice and helpful. Extreamly well ubicated in Gamla Stan ( historic center ) a few steps from the Cathedral (from its tower you get wonderful sights of Stockholm!) and the Royal Palace; a few blocks from the Nobel Museum and Storttorget. This apartment has an outstanding...

Pretty much without fault, Lady Hamilton is now one of my favourite hotels. Very helpful staff, brilliant location, quiet yet quirky room, great breakfast – the list goes on. (They even have Missoni toiletries in the rooms!) Made my gruelling business week in Stockholm perfect.

Fast and free Internet. Good breakfast. Decent sized rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were there in July, and there is no AC. Frankly, it was uncomfortable. I understand many hotels don't offer AC, but with warmer summers, I need cool temps to sleep. Every night we opened the windows to cool off the room, but then the chimes...

Perfect position in the center of Gamla Stan, very easy to reach from central station. Kind, polite and helpful staff. Beautiful room with particular antique style. Breakfast in the standard but very good taste. Romantic hotel recommended for sightseeing holidays.

If you are a tourist in Stockholm and would like to see a lot in the city - this hotel is a good choice. My room was quite small though and very hot. Unfortunately I couldn't keep the window open during the night due to a lot of noise outside (summer party people). During the summer in Sweden it is...

Great location in Old Town Stockholm. So friendly and nice quaint clean rooms. We had a nice large room with a view of the courtyard. Great sauna with plunge pool. Would definitely choose it again in a minute.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
