we stayed in a double room (bunk beds) with private bathroom, it was a great place to stay, the breakfast is well worth the money, especially as Stockholm is not cheap for eating out, it is a bit far from things but the metro is only a 10 min walk, a cool quirky place I would be happy to stay...

While traveling on a budget in Stockholm, I found Langholmen to be a very budget friendly stay. Not knowing the layout of the city before I booked my stay, I didn't realize that it was SO far from everything! It took forever to get to city center, was near ZERO food options, and was exhausting just to get far from...

I spent 3 nights in prison (the hostel) and I loved every bit of it. The scenery around it is nice (although you can't see it out of your cell, doh!) and it makes for a pleasant walk to the nearby metro station (about 10 minutes away). The hostel provides some entertainment options as well, as it houses the prison...

I stayed at Langholmen Hostel with my friends for 4 nights at a 3 bed cell with a private bathroom. The hotel is located in Langholmen, a beautiful little island of Stockholm. It's only a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro(underground) station. The Hostel is very clean!!! I love the fact that it used to be a prison before...

We have stayed in this hostel together with my sister and we found it very original. It is a converted prison and you literally stay in the cells which used to accommodate prisoners. We have preferred a room with a bathroom and shower facilities and therefore it was quite comfortable. The hostel is not very far away from the city...

When my daughter told me we would be staying together in a converted prison cell while visiting Stockholm, I wondered how we would "fit"! I had travelled from Australia with a large suitcase and was accustomed to the Australian way of large hotel rooms. Langholmen Hostel exceeded my expectations! The use of space and clever design in our cell with...

Four of us shared a cell here. We had two bunk beds and a table and chairs in our room. The showers and toilets were just along the corridor. The hostel was spotlessly clean. The beds were really comfortable. Absolutely loved it here. Lots and lots of fun. Thinking of bringing the family back to stay here.

The hotel is former prison and rooms are converted prison cells. The room was clean and well equipped with everything you need. Excellent hotel and reasonable price. It is one of the most remarkable experience I've ever had.

Did not know what to expect. A bit of a walk without much signage, which at night is difficult. With a phone call staff helped me find way (door closest to 3 flagpoles). Staff were very lively and helpful. Service was good, WC and showers clean. Shower had good pressure. Although could hear both men's and women's toilets filling in...

Love the prison theme and the museum! The staff members were very friendly, everything was clean. We had an ensuite room and the shower was amazing. The guest kitchen was massive and had many stoves available, so never had to wait around. Location is good, but given its history, there is quite a bit of a walk before you get...

Staying in Hornstull & Langholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Hornstull & Langholmen
If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.
