The hostel is really nice. We booked 4 beds with private bathroom, which is very convenient. However the location is quite far from city center. So we decided to take the metro instead of walking, which tickets are not so cheap. It's also quite small. We hardly have a room to move around considering there are 4 people in one...

PROS: Location. The two-storey wooden hut is set in a cozy park, so it's quiet no-hassle surroundings. Just 20 min walk to the Old Town. No more pros detected. NEGATIVE: The rooms for four guests are the size of railway compartments with no facilities. The shower and toilets are in the end of the corridor but they are pretty clean,...

Me and my cousin went to Sweden for the weekend, and this location was amazing. So quaint, next to a park, next to the lake! The bar was great, with a large selection of liquors! Did not feel like a hostel at all, and we are planning to go back this summer!

We arrive quite late (1:30am) and still we were welcomed with a big smile and a lot of pacience from the staff. Breakfast was not included. It was just okay, nothing really special but enough to start your day full of energy. I really liked that it was quiet and you could sleep at night. You could not hear any...

Stayed 2 nights with family and 2 kids. The kids enjoyed the surrounding view and the nice garden just a walking distance. The room is small but clean with all the needs. The hostel looks beautiful and happening especially at night. Located near to the train station with walking distance about 5-7 minutes. There are numbers of restaurants nearby. Will...

The hotel is clean, with helpful staff and adequate size rooms which were basic in terms of furnishing yet did the job as we spent most of the time walking and sightseeing. The hotel is situated in a quiet corner of Sodermalm and serves a good breakfast.

I've been here for 4 nights. The room is small but you have your own locker where I could fit in my whole suitcase. There are several bathrooms with lots of showers and toilets. They were clean and good. The shower especially had good hot water! I eat at the restaurant which was not cheap but sooo good!! I really...

We stayed here with 87 children on our youth orchestra tour and were very happy with the accommodation. The breakfast was well organised and one evening we had dinner which was excellent. Plenty of room variety so something for everyone

All of the receptionists spoke perfect English, the beds were comfy and everywhere was really clean. Also, the kitchen had a wide range of utensils. About 40 minutes walk to central Stockholm. Could hire bed linen and towels, but duvet and pillows provided free of charge. And there is free pasta

This summer, my wife and I spent our 10 day "babymoon" in hotel Zinkensdamm. And just like 7 years before, when we spent a week in the hotel in the middle of the winter, we were very satisfied, and fell in love with the hotel again! Zinkensdamm is probably the most cute, cosy and idyllic hotel we've ever visited. The...

Staying in Hornstull & Langholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Hornstull & Langholmen
If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Zinkensdamm is a 3-star Superior Hotel situated in the midst of the picturesque plantation plots by Tantolunden at Sodermalm. Despite the central location, the hotel is surrounded by several green areas which infuse a relaxing atmosphere. The decorations of the hotel rooms are inspired by the old south of Stockholm while still maintaining all the modern facilities. All rooms are provided with private shower and wc as well as a flat-screen TV with free cable channels. Zinkensdamm Hotel can offer a wide range of rooms, from a single room for the lone traveler to a family room to the traveler visiting Stockholm with kindred. The green areas in the area offer lovely jogging tracks and path ways in a cultural-historical environment. Feel free to upgrade to one of our superior rooms and get a mini-bar and tea/coffeemaker in the room. These types of rooms consist of either a double bed or two separate singlebeds. In the morning we set the table for our generous breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, yoghurt with berries, soured milk, various types of juices, coffee/tea, freshly baked bread, fruits and a wide range of different cold cuts and spreads to put on the bread. The hotel is constantly being renovated, yet maintaining the special atmosphere of the genuine Sodermalm. ... more   less
