The Red Boat Hotel and Hostel offers great bang for the buck (kick for the kroner?), super service, and a very convenient location. Staff very accommodating. Rooms tiny but price is right. Loved the view from the back deck (many folks don't realize it's there).

Overall, it was an interesting experience to live on the boat. However, I was rather disappointed that my room did not have a view on the river, but the window faced the other side. Another drawback was that the showers in the female bathroom were...More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the red Boat hotel one night. The location was perfect for us, just within walking distance from the city centre. The room was quite small but comfortable with complementary tee annd coffee. The breakfast was really good. Recommended.

This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a
postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its
center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase
    neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential
area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes
    to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with
sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars.
Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park

I didn't have breakfast as it was an additional charge - easy (and cheaper) to just walk to Gamla Stan and get a pastry and coffee. It's at least a 10 - 15 minute walk to Gamla Stan.
