It is a nice place - a little outside the city centre. Most importantly, they have very clean sheets. The room facilities are also fine. They have heating under the bathroom tile - but for some reason that stopped working in the morning. Breakfast is fine - can be a little better. The greatest thing is that their coffee machine...

Very nice hotel 10-15 minutes walking distance to city center. Comfortable and clean room and bed. On the street side but good isolation and pretty quite. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. I did not like very small, really very small bathroom. But it was clean with floor heating. Can fully recommend. 😆

This hotel is located in a very nice zone in Uppsala, near the Cathedral and not too far from the center. The breakfast each morning included in the price of the room is also excellent and you can have free coffee and cookies all day. Rooms on the other side are very old, would rather class them as the ones...

Nice place to stay in the university area. Our room was fairly basic but really quiet with a very comfortable bed and very clean. We also had a great view of the cathedral. Substantial buffet breakfast and you can help yourself to hot drinks at other times too.

This "hotel" is better seen as an upmarket hostel. It is located at the heart of the University and the Old Town and therefore very convenient. It appears to staffed by students from the university who have differing abilities and aervice standards. The rooms are adequate and with basic provision. The breakfast was adequate but was cramped due to inadequate...

I am very statisfied with this hotel. Staff are friendly and room was big enough and warm. very close to the cathedral and the castle. I liked walking around the hotel. I had a conference at the University and the location was only 8 mins away from the hotel. The breakfast was very good with cakes tasted as if they...

We stayed here for 4 nights. Well worth staying here. Friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and quiet (noting there is a bit of road noise given our room overlooked the road). Really good location. Able to walk to the university library, into the main part of the city and also about a 15 minute walk to the train...

The charming Akademihotellet is set close to the centre of old Uppsala, close by to the great cathedral and castle and library. The rooms are small but adequate, and the bathroom is on the tiny side. But there are lots of warm light cosy spots to sit and read, and tea and coffee are available 24 hours. Staff are very friendly...

I paid £95 / SEK 1,052 for a two night weekend stay in a single room with shared shower, including breakfast. However, I was given a single room with en-suite. I asked about this and was told that this can happen depending on demand for other rooms. The hotel is located next to the cathedral and castle and is a...

I had a well equipped room -very big for a single - and good breakfasts in a handy and inexpensive place. There's even a cute road sign for a children's story character at the end of the road. The reception staff were nice and helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Akademihotellet. Centrally located hotel between castle and cathedral. Parks and historical buildings in the surroundings. Some of the atmosphere from 1930 when the house was built has been preserved in the rooms. Many rooms have a fantastic view over the Cathedral and the historical surroundings in central Uppsala. Near the hotel are also many parks and the city centre is only five minutes´ walk away. The rooms have been continuously renovated and are now very comfortable hotel rooms. All rooms have rustic furnishing with comfortable 90 cm beds and oak or beech furniture. Floors have parquet or linoleum flooring in traditional style. Most rooms have high windows and ceilings except on the fourth floor. Breakfast buffet is of course included and we are proud to say that our guests enjoy our new baked bread, eggs, cereals, sausages etc. ... more   less
