When we landed in St Thomas, we realized quick that it was quite busy and loud. Once we took the ferry over to Water Island it was a totally different world. It was quiet, less people, and more of a secluded spot. Which was perfect for me and my boyfriends week long getaway. We got picked up at the ferry...

When we travel we like to seek out unique experiences, accommodations and food. Often this means backpacking, camping, kayaking or other venues. As we were looking for an interesting winter get-away, we came across the Tripadvisor rave reviews for the Virgin Islands Campground and it definitely did not disappoint! A few caveats: although they pick you up and drop you...

Virgin Island Campground is not for everyone, but, for my wife and I, it was perfect! We were looking for somewhere that was not crowded with pushy people. What we found was a tranquil, laid back, easy going place with great people staying with us. The communal kitchen was a perfect meeting place to share meals and conservation. The cabins...

Let me start with we had been planning to camp at the bottom of the Grand Canyon for our vacation....but due to a lottery system we had to come up with a second choice. Thank God, internet, or a bit of both but somehow we located VICG. Roger and Dawn were the perfect hosts. The other campers very friendly and...

My husband and I just got back from our honeymoon at the Virgin Islands Campground and had the best experience. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The campground had all the convenience you could want, the communal kitchen fully stocked and ready to cook, the bathrooms are spacious. And let's not forgot how beautiful the cabins were. We woke...

My husband and I were looking for a little more adventure for our 10 year Anniversary. All the five star reviews reeled us in and then the line "bring a flashlight for bathroom trips" did the deal in for us! Our cabin was absolutely what we were looking for, especially the comfortable beds and little lizard that joined us indoors!...

Sturdy, well maintained, furnished canvas & screen cabins in the trees with all the essentials (and plenty of extras like a porch with a view, hot tub, an alarm clock, a safe, shampoo & shower gel on tap, bedside reading lights, ICE! and fans) make VICG a very comfortable home base from which to enjoy & explore Water Island, St...

What a terrific stay we had at Water Island Campground...Nothing was a disappointment. The cozy little cabin had a wonderful ocean breeze blowing through (the cabin was screened in with no glass windows so the cool night air aided in a nice restful sleep)...Don't be surprised in the mornings to look out onto the hillside to see a chicken running...

USVI Campgrounds is the perfect getaway for those who don't mind being a little close to nature! Cabins are clean, comfy, and outfitted with electricity & screens so ocean breezes can be enjoyed all day & night. Enjoy being woken up in the morning by the chickens gently rooting around outside your cabin for their breakfast (luckily the rooster has...

Remember this is camping...sort of. That said I don't think I could have asked for a better vacation. If you want to getaway and I mean really away, this is the place for you! From the reservations, to the arrival, to the departure I had no complaints. The staff was so friendly, but not annoying...they were there for anything we...
