Great place. Received a nice beautiful upgrade. Absolutely no complaints. In a great location central to everything. Beautiful bathrooms. Staff was very attentive and helpful. One of the best breakfasts we’ve had. Highly recommend staying here!

First the positive: The hotel room is one of the coziest you can imagine. The wooden floor creates a warm, comfortable atmosphere. The design is simple but well thought out. It's great that you can hide the TV in a cupboard. The lighting concept is unique, you can choose between four different settings. The Japanese-style toilet is also unique here in the West. There is also an electronic panel to choose between 'Do not disturb' and 'Please clean'. No more signs necessary. The bathroom and shower are spacious. The design is very successful. The location is also great.

Now the criticisms: The housekeeping does not meet the standard of a 5-star hotel. After the room was cleaned, there were still crumbs from breakfast (we had room service) on the cushions. In addition, coffee and tea were simply not refilled. There were no new large towels either, although we had none left. Amenities in the bathroom were only partially refilled and there were black marks on the wall in the shower. The breakfast is really limited in selection compared to other 5-star hotels and the room service is inexplicably expensive. Why does room service cost €25 for breakfast, but only €10 for dinner? In both cases, only one tray is brought and breakfast already costs €32 per person. Unlike other 5-star hotels, no table is brought into the room for breakfast, so you have to make sure you eat at the small desk. Considering that breakfast for two people including room service costs €89 per day, the selection is really poor. You can't even order your egg the way you want it. There is only scrambled eggs. The room service dinner was also cold, unseasoned and not very appetizing. You can only order until 9 p.m. We ordered at 8:15 p.m. and when it was delivered we were told that we were lucky because they were ready right away. That is very unusual in a 5-star area.

Hotel St George blew my socks off! My partner booked the Sky Attic Studio room, and I absolutely loathed the idea - especially seeing the pictures, which don't do it justice at all.

This was our first time in a Design Hotel. On this trip, we had stayed at another Marriott but our plans called for a switch in hotels based on availability. Before even entering the hotel, I preferred where its situated in the city. You feel like you're in the thick of it all, rather than isolated.

Check-in was professional with chairs to sit in during the process. I found the staff to be a bit stuffy. Yes, it's a luxury hotel, but it's not a Peninsula, Mandarin, Aman, Four Seasons, etc. So they need to take it down a notch.

The room was the perfect size for 2 people on an intl trip for a couple of weeks with 270 - 360 sq ft. The room was incredibly airy and open with a ton of natural light. Everything about the room was well positioned. The bed was amazingly comfortable with a huge TV right in view if you were inclined to veg a bit. The soda stream was very thoughtful and of course the rain shower is always nice.

I would absolutely love to stay here again.

We had a short 36-hr stopover in Helsinki the St George was absolutely perfect. Early check-in meant we could refresh after a long flight before exploring the city. The hotel is just so luxurious. The room was totally sound insulated, could hear no noise from outside or the corridor at all. The decor was brilliant. The breakfast was the best breakfast we've ever had. Hands-down. So much choice and all so fresh and the service was brilliant. The bar also was incredible, even during the daytime it was a wonderful place to come and relax. The spa was a little busy, and the pool quite cold, but overall good.

Stayed 3 nights as part of our Scandinavian vacation. Location was spot on fantastic , at city center, near shopping areas, and walkable to other points of interest. Marski hotel may be a little central but once you see it , the difference maybe just a little. The hotel has great exterior and interior aesthetics. Cleanliness was evident. The architecture design was pleasing to one’s eye, more so the decors of the quaint lobby and its signature restaurants. The room we stayed was the Cozy classic twin which had provided an extra bed and amenities for the additional person. Liked the HD Tv which seem encased in a cabinet, and provisions for Bluetooth access. Liked the comfortable beds , the spaciousness it exudes, the minimalist but elegant approach as well. The bathroom has an automated bidet , a rarity for European hotels, and the rain shower was well defined. It doesn’t have a bathtub , but it’s because of the room type we booked. Other unique amenities include the sparkling water maker, and a gym rubber amenities. Slippers and dental kits are also provided. Late night room service are offered as well. Only minor drawback was drip style coffee was available instead of the maker pods offered in other luxury hotels. AC temperature was not cool enough, even the staff went there personally to work on it. Cannot open the windows for additional comfort, but it is more of a subjective approach. Breakfast was buffet with choices of hot and cold dishes. Personal fave of mine was the station serving yummy salty bacon , sausages, eggs and frittata. Request for omelette and eggs Benedict are readily available. Even the type of coffee you want would not disappoint.
Staff service from housekeeping, front desk and bell were just great , very professional and seem to doesn’t miss a beat providing help when asked for.
Didn’t get to try Wintergarden , their sauna, pool and fitness center and it is because of our quite busy itinerary.

This hotel has some nice amenities. The location is great. The sauna is nice. The rooms have some neat features. However, the service we received was not worthy of the price point or the five-star rating.

The person who checked us in was surly. She scolded us for having booked on Expedia, even though we had paid over list price for the booking.

Our room (a Serenity Suite) was in a terrible location: on the first floor, overlooking a busy street and a parking garage. We kept our curtains drawn because pedestrians could see in. The traffic noise kept us up at night. Meanwhile, there were other rooms of the same type available for our dates.

We tried the breakfast once. Since we had not pre-paid, it was 34 Euros per person. The restaurant was half empty, but the host sat us by a pole, in the path of the waitstaff, with no room to relax and enjoy the expensive meal. We ate as fast as possible and consumed our remaining meals elsewhere.

The first day of our stay, housekeeping never came. I had to ask at the front desk for them to come service the room. We learned that unless you specifically request it, your room will not be serviced until close to 4 pm.

By the time all this happened, it was too late to cancel our reservation so we avoided being at the hotel as much as possible.

Save your hard-earned money and stay elsewhere.

Top notch stay. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. Location was centrally located, within walking distance of all activities, the customer service was prompt, courteous, and thorough, and we loved the available sauna and spa! We also enjoyed delicious food and beverage at the bar, restaurant, and bakery. The room was nicely sized and up to date. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Hotel St George in Helsinki is in a great central location - facing a park square, but also just a few minutes walk from the main city centre. It is luxurious with everything was just as it should be.

I had a studio room and it was modern, spacious and clean. High ceilings, nice desk space and big bathroom, alongside some extra bonuses like a TV that was built into the wall and clever lighting too.

The way that breakfast was served took a bit of getting used to - bread is brought to your table then you have to go and collect food from buffet area or chef station. The food was nicely prepared though and well worth getting up for!

Hotel required a 'damage deposit' to be paid on check in and this was held in Euros on my credit card. A bit inconvenient and a bit surprising as I was staying with work, but there were no problems with getting this returned on check out.

More expensive than other Helsinki city centre hotels that I have stayed in, but it was a good stay and I hope I can stay again one day.

My wife and I stayed one night at the Hotel St. George. The Atelier room was fabulous, with a great view over snowy Vanha kirkkopuisto. Also the hotel had nicely remembered my wife's birthday with some delicacy in the room. Everything was spotless in the room, comfortable bed to sleep etc. Perhaps the only downside was some noises heard (mainly footsteps) from above one Suite, but the earplugs were a nice addition. Also the rubberband and some instructions for exercise both on TV and small "note cards" based on the Aki Hintsa method were a nice supplement :)

We visited the spa in the evening and overall it was a nice experience. Special shout-out to the cold dipping pool and thermal sauna. The traditional Finnish sauna could have been a bit warmer, but I understand it's catered for many nationalities. Although the main pool was small, it was nice to dip in it.

Breakfast was a nice blend of some traditional Finnish/Swedish things like herring and smoked vendace, international main course foods and a good selection of breads, including cold cuts. The only thing we were wondering a bit was about the dragonfruit and passion fruit in the middle of Winter. Overall, very solid and good standard breakfast. Special remark on the St. George bakery which is just opposite the breakfast place, where you can also buy some nice delicacies such as cinnamon rolls to take away. :)

Overall, I would highly recommend the establishment if you like a bit of luxury and apprecite a very central location in Helsinki!

Weird actually from the beginning to the end I didn't feel like I was welcome here. Also at check-in very uninterested. Asked at check-in if I had booked with breakfast, which was not so, you want to arrange it. Afterwards it was only arranged for the first day (stayed 5 nights) Breakfast costs something like 35€ the strange thing is that I had to pay about 18€ extra for egg-bennedict. That comes to over 50 € for a breakfast. Even for a 5* hotel I don't think that's normal! Asked a day before departure if I could check out a little later, but on the day itself my door turned out not to work. Come your staff in the hallway, or reception to hardly anyone greets you. Had booked a room overlooking the street side. Looked out on the middle ground.

Room was not big but okay. Bathroom with toilet and shower cell. And bathrobe, one big towel. Once eaten in the restaurant, but that should not, it turned out, at the hotel, had to pay immediately. (Incidentally delicious food)

Location is excellent, the whole city is well compact. And a shopping mecca. Café Ekhart is nearby and div branches of Fazer are there where you can have breakfast. Getting my laundry done and that was fine.

It is not a bad hotel but have a different feeling about it.

The breakfast is good but not ‘over the top’. The dining area is nothing special and service can get overwhelmed. If you are looking for something ‘special’ then elsewhere is my view. However, the choice and quality of food/cooking is good for this type of hotel.
