We have recently returned home to Australia after travelling for six weeks and NH Helsinki was one of our favourite hotels. The hotel is in a fabulous central location within easy walking distance to explore the historic city, shopping, trams and central station. Tip - ask the hotel best way to get there if you are walking with bags from the train station.
All staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, professional and helpful. We would like to send a special thank you to Neihana who was always on hand to assist and answer our many questions, offering great recommendations as this was our first time in Helsinki. We greatly appreciated you going over and above to make our stay perfection.
Our stylish room was well-designed with great attention to detail especially the lighting. The room was extremely clean with a large window allowing lots of natural light, the bed was extremely comfortable, air con that you could easily adjust to your preferred temperature, bathroom design was beautiful and functional, we always appreciate a walk-in shower with great water pressure. Coffee and Tea making facilities along with complimentary water is always welcomed. The breakfast was a standout, so many healthy options and catered for all dietary requirements. Breakfast on the weekends until 1pm is a fabulous idea that I wish more hotels would offer. Thank you for an amazing stay, the hotel exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend staying at NH Helsinki and look forward to returning.

The location, the building and the interiors of the new hotel are fantastic. The interior spaces of a building constructed in 1910 have been thoroughly renovated with style. Although small, the room was beautiful and served us well. Despite being in the heart of the city center, the room was very quiet. The unique Kupoli Bar is unparalleled — don’t miss it, but be prepared to queue or book a table in advance and expect the signature cocktails to match the premium location in price. Service in Kupoli was also top-notch. Don’t forget to visit the 360° balcony!
The spa features a small Finnish sauna, a steam room, and heated loungers. The treatment I received was excellent, with the spa’s interior design offering a calming and relaxing atmosphere; minimalist colors and thoughtful details throughout. The breakfast was also good. Overall, nearly a flawless hotel experience.
The only minor drawbacks were related to the bars: the queuing system for Kupoli Bar was confusing. It would have been helpful if the process had been better explained to hotel guests in advance. There seemed to be two separate queues — one managed by a host in the lobby bar and another at the bar’s external entrance. At the lobby, we weren’t even allowed to join the queue, but when we tried the external entrance just a little bit later, we were admitted almost immediately.
Additionally, the cocktail I ordered at the lobby bar was underwhelming. It was a classic drink (albeit off-menu but universally known), yet some key ingredients were missing, which resulted in a sad experience. This was disappointing given the otherwise luxurious atmosphere. Thankfully, the creative and expertly crafted signature drinks at Kupoli Bar more than made up for it.
I’m quite certain that we will stay here again, and absolutely certain that we will visit the Kupoli Bar again.

We thoroughly enjoyed a 5 night stay at the NH Collection Hansa Helsinki. The staff was outstanding and really made us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The daily breakfast was wonderful and included a vast array for food and drinks. We enjoyed daily saunas and also used the Spa facilities. We stayed in the Grand Studio room and found It very well appointed and roomy with a separate back tub and shower. The bed was very comfortable and the climate system was on par. The location is right across the road from the main train terminal and easy access to the Helsinki tram system. We would not hesitate to book here again.

From many years of travel experience in high end hotels, I can give the following rating for NH Collection Grand Hansa. One important thing before: The high end hotels you have seen in every price category in your life, the better you can evaluate them and have an overview. I stayed 5 nights in Premium Room XL no 320.
This hotel is probably the best option regarding service & price performance ratio in Helsinki city at the moment.
Positive facts :
Very nice decoration and interior design throughout the hotel as well as excellent workmanship of all materials in the room / bathroom.
Excellent location for a city trip
Very clean
I highly recommend to book the Premium XL Room number 320 which has plenty daylight in the room and bathroom. Big Shower / a lot of storage / comfortable bed / separate toilet / housekeeping did a great job.
Despite the fact that it is a hotel chain and the hotel has many rooms, the personal service and attentiveness of the staff is present.
Large choice for breakfast - the price of 25 euro is absolutely justified for what you get served. ( breakfast is a large buffet )
Reconsiderable facts:
During the week there was no page / bellboy at the main entrance to welcome guests and take their luggage to reception (only at weekends). The main entrance is up several steps... this is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel in my opinion.
In the room, the ventilation continues to run even after the air conditioning is switched off and cold air blows directly towards the bed into the face.
Additional information for all guests: The pictures on the booking pages ( booking / Expedia etc ) correspond exactly to what you find on site.
Windows in the room cannot be opened.

This is a beautiful hotel in the center of Helsinki. It’s just a short walk away from the main square market and has cafes, bars and restaurants all around. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. A fresh bottle of water is left in the room each day and the Nespresso coffee machine and pods are also a nice touch. To top it all there’s actually a really good hairdryer in the bathroom! Staff is very pleasant and attentive. The trip from the airport by train is easy to manage and drops you at Central Railway Station which is just around the corner from the hotel.

We stayed in the Premium Room XL, which was both stylish and incredibly cozy. The attention to detail in the design and amenities made our stay truly enjoyable. After dinner, we concluded our evening at the Kupoli Cocktail Bar, located high up in the tower of the hotel. The next morning, we took advantage of the gym and the hotel’s spa, both were flawless. The fitness center, like the rest of the hotel, was spotless and equipped with everything you could need. The spa offered a wonderful opportunity to relax and added a perfect touch to our stay. The breakfast was another highlight. We especially loved that it is served until 1:00 PM on weekends, perfect for late risers and those who enjoy a leisurely start to their day. The selection was first-class and left nothing to be desired. A special thank you goes to the entire hotel staff, who made our stay truly unforgettable. Their professionalism and visible passion for hospitality were evident in every interaction. It was clear that the team goes above and beyond to ensure each guest has a perfect and memorable experience. In summary, this hotel is highly recommended.
