Is Hobo a boutique hotel in Kluuvikatu in central Helsinki, with unique design and a vibrant social scene? Yes, it is. But it’s also far more than that. Hobo is our idea of community. A place where we live, work, create, learn and have fun together. We believe that traveling should be more than just a place to stay. It should be an immersive experience; something that connects you with the city and its culture, its local community. In addition to the vibrant culture, at Hobo you’ll find 183 hotel rooms for every taste, plus a restaurant, a bar, a whole floor of event spaces, our pop-up area SPACEby, and much, much more. Hobo Helsinki is just a few hundred meters from the central railway station, a stone’s throw from the University of Helsinki metro station and close to taxis and trams. Getting around Helsinki couldn’t be more comfortable or faster.

Hobo Helsinki garners praise for its prime location, nestled in the heart of the city with easy access to key attractions and transit. Reviewers consistently commend the hotel's cleanliness and unique, eclectic decor, despite some mentions of noise and a less cozy communal atmosphere. The staff's exemplary service frequently receives accolades, ensuring guests feel well taken care of.
While room sizes vary, cleanliness and comfort remain a high point. The hotel's value is highlighted by many, who appreciate the local options at breakfast, with the only drawback being a few comments about insufficient power sockets.

I stayed here with one of my coworkers for two weeks. It was a great location just a 10 minute walk to the central train station which we used on a daily basis to commute to the office.
The room was quite large and had a nice sitting area next to the bed in addition to a desk.
The breakfast was included and offered plenty of local options which I love when I am traveling.
Overall the hotel had a kind of hipster vibe and full of people my age (early to mid twenties) in addition to some business travelers.

I am a strawberry member and when checking into the hotel, the receptionist offered to upgrade the room class on his own initiative and made sure if I had any wishes regarding the location of the room. The room and the hotel facilities were clean, comfortable and relaxed.
At night, a loud party started in the next room, and when I called the reception about it, the matter was resolved in five minutes! The customer service really is first class in my experience.

We're super happy to hear your stay has been such a success, and would like to thank you for being a valued Strawberry member as well :) Great to hear our staff has been attentive and disrupted the disturbance from the neighboring room - although we would naturally still like to apologize the disturbance and inconvenience caused by this. Wishing you a great continuing week, Kindest regards Hobo Helsinki team

Very noisy do not stay on the 7th floor if there is any snow. We were kept awake by what sounded like a cattle stampede or tap dancers from 2:00 a.m. until 5:00 a.m.. The front desk said that they were clearing snow from the roof and that there was nothing they could do about the noise. Therefore, I would not stay here between the months of September and April to avoid snow clearing noise. The breakfast was excellent. It included omelets pancakes, yogurt, cereal, bacon, baked goods, fruit, bread and they have a fully automatic coffee maker that makes cappuccino. The room was clean and the bedding was comfortable. But what good is a comfortable bed when it's too noisy to sleep in?

Hey Michelle, kindest thanks for your stay in Hobo Helsinki - as well as your valuable feedback and the time you have taken to write it to us. I would like to sincerely apologize the disturbance caused by the snow removal from the roof during your stay, but as already explained during your stay, this is unfortunately totally out of our control as a hotel, since the works are done by a completely external party, and sadly they never give us a warning prior to these works. The snow removal from the roofs - as inconveniently disturbing it can be - is a crucial safety precaution both for the structural stability of the building itself, as well as the pedestrians walking under the roof on the street to eliminate the risk of the heavy snow falling on pedestrians, causing danger and potential injuries. Luckily the snow removal is a very rare and exceptional phenomena happening sparsely during the heavier snow fall days, which luckily aren't that common in the Helsinki area, and naturally we are happy to accommodate requests of calmer rooms upon the arrival to make sure there is no disturbance from the sporadic snow removal activities even during the winter time. Sadly you have been very unlucky to experience this activity during your stay with us. We are though delighted to hear the stay has otherwise been a pleasant one, and that you've liked the breakfast and facilities otherwise , and would absolutely love to welcome you back on some other occasion.

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the action, a stone's throw from Senate Square and Helsinki Cathedral, shopping streets and the harbour market square. Nevertheless, we slept very quietly and relaxed. Since we arrived by car / ferry, the well-regulated parking option in a nearby underground car park was also optimal. From there you only walk about a minute to the hotel.
Service, answering questions, restaurant tips and generally the vibe in the hotel I liked. For me, it was the first time I got to know the hobo concept. Despite all the hipness, it was pleasant overall. The only drawback I found was the cages in which we could lock the suitcases away because we had arrived too early. Here you have to lock the doors with your own chosen codes. However, I found that you could hardly read the numbers on the locks, which made typing difficult.
The room was Scandinavian small and simple but had everything you need. Great shower, comfortable beds, and the bath slippers are even allowed to take with you. Not so great that it says "alarm secured" above the emergency exit and a card reader is attached. So you don't really know if the door would only open with a card in an emergency - not such a great feeling if you stay on the top floor.
But a huge praise for the breakfast. This was certainly one of the best breakfast experiences I ever had in a hotel. A really great and innovative selection, and it tasted delicious. That the breakfast in the not even so high price was already included, I also felt as a big plus of this booking.

Overall a great choice for central Helsinki. Brilliant location, less than 10 minutes from the Central Station. Right at the heart of the city, surrounded by boutiques, shops, bars and restaurants - the hotel is definitely stylish and modern. Rooms vary from very small to spacious and the latter have fridges, kettles and coffee makers. The smaller ones don’t, so beware. I was disappointed with my small room but the management kindly upgraded me to a larger category. There seems to be a lack of plug sockets near the desk/TV/fridge/coffee/tea in the room, so some swapping of plugs was required. The check in is good, but if you were unfortunate as I was, you’ll have to deal with an iPad and a card machine if the staff are otherwise engaged. When they are there, they’re lovely! Breakfast is good, not great, and I found it all a little uninviting. It may be the industrial look they’re going for. Some strange jams and spreads, but sufficient choice of bread, some meats and cheeses and some decent hot options. You won’t go hungry but don’t expect to be wowed! The bar has a co-working space vibe, which is great for those with smaller rooms and there is tea/coffee for a small fee or free for their loyalty members. I would definitely come again now I know what rooms to book and what to expect.

Hey there Mitchie! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback - we truly appreciate it ❤️ We're sorry to hear the small room and the first impression upon check-in didn't quite hit the mark. As for the check-in, yeah, the self-service option can be a bit of a hit or miss, but we're happy our team was lovely when you got to meet them in person. 😊 Noted on breakfast – we'll keep an eye on that industrial vibe and see if we can make things a bit more welcoming. Looking forward to having you back with us at Hobo Helsinki! Now that you’ve got the room preferences down, we’re sure your next stay will be even better. We will do our best to pick you a lovely room based on your wishes! Have a lovely start of the week! 🌟 Lots of love, Aleksi Hobo Helsinki

Hotel located in the center of the city. Small but comfortable and well equipped room. Nickel cleaning. Nice welcome. Breakfast very hearty and varied. Free slippers. The price is very good compared to French hotels. Small flat on the rooms overlooking the main street with the tram passing through the night. Even if c is well insulated, you can still hear quite a lot of noise. Another point a little unpleasant (to peck a little) is the tendency to want to charge you extras, and not internet, and on the spot.

Intriguing blend of modern design, quirky aesthetics, and a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere. Located in the heart of Helsinki,
The decor is eclectic. The rooms are well-designed, with functional layouts and cozy touches, though some may find them a bit compact.
Overall, the Helsinki Hobo Hotel is a fantastic choice for those seeking a more informal.

Very good hotel. It echoes the Stockholm concept but is a little less elegant. The rooms are nice but with inexplicably small sinks (321). The marquees to cover the walls I do not like much and collect dust. For the rest very central, comfortable, very kind and capable staff. Value for money right given the centrality and abundant breakfast. Exceptional and moving the sparkling wine and chocolates that made us find in the room for our eighth anniversary.
