We were 1 night at Petursborg and the only guests on that day. The guesthouse is located a few minutes drive outside of Akureyri (not in walking distance!) and due to the surrounding darkness a good place to view the northern lights. Thanks to the lovely owners, we were upgraded to one of the huts with our own bathroom. The...

Located on the outskirts of Akureyri, Guesthouse Pétursborg is owned and operated by an Icelander and his Swiss-born wife. I stayed in one of their cottages for 2 nights in September. The entire experience was a class act right from the moment of check-in. Andrea is wonderful and truly cares for her guests. The cottage was comfortable, immaculately clean, and...

A small farm house with rooms in the house as well as stand-alone cottages run by an Icelander with his Swiss-born wife. Easy to locate just off Road 1. Very clean environment, like in other Icelandic home stays, they ask you to remove the shoes when entering the house, keeping everything sparkling clean. Cottage is compact but quite spacious, laminated...

Stayed for 6 nights as in the area for a wedding. We had one of the cosy cabins in the grounds. Very comfortable, light and airy.Excellent views, beautiful sunsets, at 11pm at night Breakfast excellent, especially the home made bread. Lots of choice. If in the area again would stay here

We had booked for a double room for 1 night (we were on honeymoon) but we have had a twin room in the main building. The room was very small and the bathroom, without window, was in the understairs. Breakfast was shabby too, no home-made ingredients, all was ready-made.

I’d read some uninspiring reviews about the Pétursborg before we booked it but the price was affordable for us and it looked okay to us, so we went ahead and chanced it. No regrets at all – in fact, we definitely would have stayed an extra night there if we’d been able to! We booked a room with private facilities...

We stayed two nights in Peturborg. It is a great place. The owners are very friendly and helpful. On the day we travelled to grimsey, we got an early breakfast also before breakfast time. the breakfast was always very enormous. We were allowed to use the hot tub, a interesting experience. I would recommend this location to every one, cause...

Greetings, On our family trip to Iceland last August 2012 we had the pleasure to spend three days in the area of akureyri and stayed at the guesthouse petursborg. We had one of the two outside cabins for the three of us. Small cabin but very nicely organised, typical scandinavian setup. Tiny bathroom, but functional. Of course always this little...

We arrived at Akureyri very late in the evening, as we had driven all the way up from Hofn in the morning. Andrea was there to greet us, and provided us with a cabin stay which was near the main house. Basic amenities were there, except that I found the toilet a little bit cramped, in that once you stepped...

We stayed for 4 days because we got stuck there thanks to the major snowstorm that paralyzed the area in sept. The couple is super friendly, they have few kids as well and all the necessary equipment if you're travelling with kids (cot, baby chair, even toys and puzzles..!). Big and nice breakfast, nice garden around, with the possibility of...
