We are a boutique small hotel/chambres d'hote with apartments and a gite. The house is listed as a building of importance to the town. It is a large maison de maitre and we have the largest garden in sainte foy with many mature trees and a a conséquence we are visited by many birds, including owls, woodpeckers, woopoos, as well as many more common birds.

Visiting for a mixture of business and pleasure we stayed at Maison M for three weeks in one of their Gites.
The owner speaks both french and English which was helpful to us as we need a translator.
We enjoyed some fantastic meals, all home cooked and the breakfast tray every morning had lovely coffee, fresh croissants and a selection of cheese and meat - very good.
All presentation was beautiful from inside being classy and french to the surrounding peaceful gardens. There is a swimming pool.
One of the things I liked the most was the security of Maison M, behind huge gates, it was very private and yet a short 5 minute walk to bars and resteraunts.
My only recommendation would be to have an iron and board in the apartment so guests didn’t have to ask for this.
Overall a wonderful destination, which I would recommend

Tegan is as enchanting as the paradise she has created in the heart of Sainte-Foy-le-Grande. Her location is ideal for strolling along the riverbanks and village. The pool is as cool and refreshing as the photo with elegant chairs and large sun umbrellas. The White Room was delightful and we slept with the windows wide open and enjoyed the tree-filled view and bug-less breeze! You truly feel like a welcome guest in a gracious manor house. Tegan is warm and meticulously attended to our needs. Next time I'd love to stay in one of the private guest houses she also has on property. She has ample room for guests' cars and bikes to park inside her gates. Breakfast was delicious and I only wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you, Tegan for sharing the charmed Maison M with us!
Cheers!

Tegan is a very welcoming host and the room (white suite) was spotless and very pleasant. The house is near the Dordogne river which allows for a nice jog in the morning and a great stroll at sunset. Sainte Foy is an old « Bastide » with a colorful local market.

I planned staying at Maison M for a special treat to celebrate my 70th birthday . After careful consideration I booked the Green Suite some months in advance to be told a few days before arrival that they had switched my room to the White Suite to accommodate the needs of other guests who wanted an adjoining room for their children and I believe to meet the needs of a disabled guest . As it is, my own wife is disabled with
Parkinson’s Disease . I am quite disappointed about this change being made and the fact that the White Room was cheaper was not a bonus as it was not particularly to my liking being smaller and plainer than the room I had chosen . The green room had two chairs not just one and I liked the idea of sitting with the option of looking out from a French window onto a small balcony , none of which was an available in the room I was given . We found the breakfast room very pleasant but the food rather lacking in choice with one large table being shared by all guests . I was surprised how small the sitting room/ library was for guests to sit in, given the size of the property . On our second night other guests had taken the available space in the sitting room
and we had no where to go other than back to our room with one chair . Oddly there was a very large comfortable looking room adjacent to this, marked private which I understood was for the owners use only . On the positive side , the property was very clean and smart and it was a bonus to be able to park our hire car in the private parking area at the back of the property . We were obliged to the owners for advising us of a good restaurant in the town which they booked for us and for showing me where I could obtain fuel for the car. However I would be disinclined to book here again fearing that the owner would change my prearranged booking details risking leaving me rightly disappointed .

We had a lovely overnight stay with our freinds from the Jaguar Club. Tegan was very welcoming host with a nice glass of wine plus help booking a local restaurant which was very good too. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the bed was a real home from home. The house itself is beautifully restored and there is a secure car park right there at the property along with a very nice rear garden. A lovely breakfast is included too. Highly recommend if your in the area.

A wonderful find and stay in a beautiful old building. By the edge of town and backing on to the Dordogne River, it's an easy short walk into town - ideal for market day.
Off street parking, clean, tasteful decor, friendly hosts, and lovely breakfast.
We had the en-suite Green room, and the adjoining Nature room for the kids. Both have French doors opening out above the street and looking out to vineyards beyond.
There is a lovely garden with a fire pit, and small open pool. Tegan recommended and booked some lovely restaurants for us which were outstanding meals out.
Just beware the mozzies - ensure you have repellant and bite cream !
The train station is also walkable and there are trains direct to either Bordeaux (about 55min) and Sarlat (both well worth a visit).
Already recommended to others and would love to stay again.

I really don’t know where to start but here goes. We arrived as a party of four, walking from the train station to Maison M.
When our host Tegan met us, I think she was rather taken aback at my attitude as I probably looked disappointed, not with her beautiful home but because of the area we had walked to get to our destination. Nevertheless, she remained very welcoming, showing us our apartments, which were separate from the main building. As we had plans for that day we left our bags and didn’t return until dusk. However, as we walked through the ground floor apartment door, I remember there was a damp musky smell - I was so disappointed. Nevertheless, I must say, the apartment was stunning and spotlessly clean. There were also so many personal touches by Tegan, which in my opinion gave it that special ‘je ne sais quo’ which is rare nowadays.

The next morning she listened to my concerns and felt she had previously rectified the problem which had been dampness in the wall behind the bed, so said she would pursue this further.

As the sun was shining and because we’d had a hectic few days previously, the following day we decided to remain in the garden, changing our plans to sightsee and to remain by the pool. And my goodness, what a day we had! The garden is so beautiful - but lots of mosquitos, so beware. And almost opposite Maison M, there is a boulangerie selling sandwiches, pastries etc, so we filled up there and enjoyed the sun, drinking wine (no we weren’t rowdy) and soaked up this amazing experience offered to us. What made it better, Tegan even had an ‘Honesty Bar’ where we could add to our supplies - a great idea. The next morning we had to leave - and not one of us wanted to. Our lovely sociable host even gave us a lift to the train station too. What more can you ask for?
So, would we go back? In a heartbeat! What a brilliant find!! Thank you Tegan, we loved it.

Maison M is a hidden gem in Sainte Foy la Grande. We received a lovely warm welcome from Tegan and were shown to the beautiful apartment outside the main building, overlooking the garden.
On our first night we booked a meal and this was delivered to the door - such a treat and delicious too.
The apartment is very well equipped for making snacks and light meals and the overall attention to detail was amazing.
Breakfast was another feast , again delivered to the door, definitely 5 star service.
If we are ever in the area again we would definitely return to Maison M.

Maison M is an absolutely beautiful place to stay! The property is stunning- and the one bed apartment we had booked was beyond charming. Beautiful design, clean, comfortable and so quiet. After a great night’s sleep, imagine our delight when Christian delivered fresh croissants, coffee and bread to the door. Enjoyed these in the beautiful gardens! Can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you ❤️

Tegan and her husband could not have done more for us when we stayed at Maison M last weekend. A beautifully resorted hotel with sympathetic furnishings. Although its in the center of town it was very quiet - the food and hospitality were lovely. We hope to visit again sometime.
