We stayed at Hali for 4 nights on a photo tour. Great location for getting to interesting spots such as Ice Beach and the various glaciers. The rooms were comfortable, clean and reasonably large. The only downside was water pressure in the shower was very...More

Spent two nights here, and its a odd place. Not sure I would return. Location is spectacular on the ring road in the breathtaking south of Iceland. You check into a new looking Restaurant / Reception building, and then get keys for your room in...More

We stayed at this hotel because of its location-situated near Skaftafell. We had a delightful surprise at dinner-fresh Arctic char with mango chutney...it was delicious! They went out of their way to accommodate us by preparing bagged breakfasts since we had an early glacier trek...More

We left very early for our ice cave tour. It takes roughly an hour and a half to get there. If you are leaving later in the morning expect to a lot of inconsiderate people around you. You will not be able to get great shots... More

how do you get to this hotel in the winter months, do you drive yourself and is this safe to do in the winter months. Are there buses? My husband and I are thinking of coming next Jan 2018 with our three kids. We were thinking of doing the three day tour with someone like Extreme Iceland (that includes the golden circle, Jökulsárlón glacier hike and the ice cave tour ). However, for all 5 of us is it is expensive and we also want to go snowmobiling and dog sledding so I was thinking we could hire a 4x4 jeep and get to this hotel (and others along the way) ourselves and then just do the day tours for everything. If you drove yourself, how was it? what was your itinerary like, where did you stop a long the way and stay etc. and tips would be appreciated . We are quite an adventurous family and my kids will be 15, 12 and 10 years and are in good shaper etc. Thanks so much, Justine Rudman
