We stayed at Hali for 4 nights on a photo tour. Great location for getting to interesting spots such as Ice Beach and the various glaciers. The rooms were comfortable, clean and reasonably large. The only downside was water pressure in the shower was very...More
Spent two nights here, and its a odd place. Not sure I would return. Location is spectacular on the ring road in the breathtaking south of Iceland.
You check into a new looking Restaurant / Reception building, and then get keys for your room in...More
We stayed at this hotel because of its location-situated near Skaftafell. We had a delightful surprise at dinner-fresh Arctic char with mango chutney...it was delicious! They went out of their way to accommodate us by preparing bagged breakfasts since we had an early glacier trek...More

We travelled to Hali Comfort Hotel in January this year - in a hired Toyota Landcruiser. We had no problems - weather was not that cold - so we didn't have to deal with snow or difficult conditions. But I don't think this would have been a problem - may have slowed things down a bit
if it was snowing. We loved having our own car (we were seven) - it allowed us to drive to the glacier lagoon when we wanted - we drove out at night to see the Northern Lights - it was amazing! It is a long drive to do in one day, particularly if you stop at one or two waterfalls along the way - but completely doable - leave Reykjavik early in the morning. We stayed two night at Hali and then one night at Vik on the way back up to Reykjavik. We booked an ice cave tour separately from an operator that picked us up at Hali Hotel.
