This is our other favorite guesthouse in Iceland (the first is Milli Vina in Borganes). We were incredibly lucky to have gotten a room here on short notice; they are already booked through much of the winter and next summer. And if you stay here, you'll know why. The owners are transplants but are passionate about Iceland. Andy is an... More

We did an overnight stop in Iceland as part of a trip to New York and choose Guesthouse 1x6 based on the good Tripadvisor reviews. We were not disappointed, this is indeed a wonderful B&B run by a lovely couple. It is only a short, courtesy, ride from the airport, and the rooms are gorgeous with a large and very... More

Not only is Andy's coffee the best in Iceland, the breakfast and hospitality at 1 x 6 is wonderful. The outdoor hot pool is always open and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great value. Andy also gave us great instructions on how to drive the Golden Circle and see a few things that only the locals know about.... More

I cannot fault this place! This is an absolutely gem! The place itself is so beautifully decorated, love the art and wood work! Spotless clean and love the little touches, like the signs reminding you that "you're on holiday so leave the your dirty cups here. You can do your washing when you get home" There is a hot tub... If you choose anyplace else to stay besides the 1 x 6 Guesthouse to begin and end your visit in Iceland you are missing out on an extraordinary experience. I say this for TWO reasons ...Andi & Yuki, the incredible folks who own 1 x 6. I have never experienced such fantastic hospitality and service. This becomes apparent the moment... More

Incredible guesthouse. Interior is indeed stylish and has its own personality. But the most exceptional is the warmth and the unlimited hospitality of the owners. You are there as you would be with friends or family. Yukiyo and Andi are looking to the finest and smallest detail to make your stay the most comfortable possible. Everything is in the extreme... I stayed here before starting an Iceland tour. Great place to stay and a nice location. Make SURE you take a walk and visit the Giantess in the Mountain and the maritime center. I did take a LONG walk to Viking World which took me to some beautiful spots on the water. Took the city bus back, but be ready... More

An amazing little B&B in Keflavik. Beautifully decorated with fantastic hosts. We had all 3 rooms in the upper floor for our family of 5. Andi is very chatty and friendly. He immediately made us feel very much at home and offered us a wonderful selection of teas and coffees. Yuki prepared a beautiful table of treats for our breakfast.... More

Andi and Yoki are absolutely wonderful hosts. They couldnt do enough to help. They Even provided an iPad for the guests to use. A small Contemporary property allows guests to Mingle and chat in the wonderful dining area which has its Own North Atlantik Views. I can honestly and confidently recommend this guesthouse. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guesthouse 1×6 is a unique family-run boutique bed&breakfast designed and initially created by a local artist, located in the old cultural part of the town of Keflavik – Iceland, overlooking the ocean and surrounded by museums, restaurants and much more! Yukiyo and Andi – a binational couple from Japan and Switzerland – are now owning and running Guesthouse 1×6. They recently moved to Iceland because they truly love this stunning country. Our little gem has just received the 2016 Traveller’s Choice Award from TripAdvisor and we are proud to be No.3 of all guesthouses in Iceland and No. 1 in Keflavik. Free transfers are available upon request from/to Keflavik Airport and an earlybird breakfast is served from 04:30am for all flights that are leaving after 07:00am. Please note that if your flight is leaving earlier, you may want to order a takeaway breakfast. We are looking very much forward to welcoming you in our gem. Guesthouse 1×6 is a perfect base if you want to see Iceland on day trips and stay in paradise. Here are some suggestions for easy day trips: – Visit the Blue Lagoon geothermal bath (don’t forget to pre book your entry ticket online!) – Explore the beauty of Reykjanes peninsula with geothermal areas and beautiful Lake Kleifarvatn – Drive the Golden Circle Tour – see the stunning waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss in the south of Iceland – go shopping in quirky Reykjavik city Our beautiful cosy rooms ... Ecological Guesthouse 1×6 was created by local artist Daniel Hjortur Sigmundsson, who creates out of what he has in his hands at any given time, reusing, recycling, creating an alternative to whatever is inside the box, refined and polished. His aim was to to make a difference in creating an environment that gives people the feeling of love, care, warmth and that we should always put an effort to our everyday life, it is the now that matters. Attention to detail is paramount and the wellbeing of our guests ensured by the singular choice of building material, 1×6 is the size in inches of the timber used to create the unique interior. You are invited to enjoy the one of a kind thermal bath in the garden with a temperature of around 40° Celsius. Along with even more details and services of the owners as well as a highly rated deluxe breakfast with homemade bread and maybe the best coffee in Iceland, Guesthouse 1×6 is a real gem. We believe that at this house, you will feel very comfortable and simply happy. Guesthouse 1×6 is located right next to the sea and the oldest houses of Keflavik town center. ... more   less
