it was ok, a last resort. water smelt funny like egg and we thought it was the drain but then we found out that hot water in iceland is heated geothermally and the egg smell is sulfur, so we were relieved! the electricity blew completely on christmas day but people were sent out in around 5 mins which was good. fresh towels to take outside rooms, bag storage and laundry services. ours was the 1 bed apartment and the corridor had a funny oily burnt fish smell all the time. it was a bit run down but felt clean enough apart from small details. tv very far from the sofa, strange layout. doors wouldnt shut properly especially in bathroom, took a few slams to close properly. building site view. close to the town, very handy. overall for the money it was fine. wouldve been nice to have a small xmas tree or something up over xmas season but cant expect it

This is a basic apartment, but a good location to downtown. It looked pretty rough from the outside and I had a problem getting in, but I phoned and someone was there is 5 minutes, sorted me out and gave me an early check in. The room was spotless and had everything we needed.. The shower was great, plenty of hot water of course and it's a wet room, but everything drained well. The bed was comfortable, you can change the towels every 2nd day, there was an area with toiletries, toilet rolls and towels if needed. I felt secure, staying there. It was good value for money.

The apparent building looks rundown from outside but the flat was actually quite nice. Basic but good value for money especially for young travellers on a budget. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. It could be a really good place with some investment

We arrived at the apartment at 3.30pm (checked in time were 3pm) only got to know that the room wasn't ready and thrashes were all over the apartment, toilet were dirty with dumps, and the unit were very very smelly. Cleaner hadn't yet to clean the unit for us. The supposed unit that they arranged for us was still occupied by the previous tenant(they didn't even arrange all in advance). The cleaners(2 Vietnamese) approached us and get us to leave all of our belongings at the apartment and we came back after that, and convinced us that they would clean it fast. Because the unit was only accessible through pass code, (only cleaners knew the password) And I have only found out that.... MY CASH IN MY BAG WERE STOLEN!!!. Please stay away from this apartment at all cause.

Perfect base in Reykjavik. Clean and comfortable apartment. Close to the main sites. Simple kitchenette, we didn’t cook but appreciated the fridge and coffee maker. 2 mins walk to bus stop 13 for tour pick ups. Hlemmur Matholl is great for food.

Room not ready on arrival. Had to find two over-worked and tired looking cleaners to clean the room. This took them 10 minutes so no great cleaning job to welcome us to the basement room that looked up at peoples' legs on the pavement outside. Very small space and the shower drain was blocked allowing dirty water to flood into the bathroom. Poorly equipped 'kitchen'. Over-priced and gives the capital of Iceland a bad name.

We stayed at this apartment for 4 nights. It was easy to locate and in a quiet area, near the supermarket and main shopping area was just a short walk. Ample parking and location made it easy to get to other parts of Iceland. Gaining entry was via a keycode on the front door and then also our room door. Apartment complex was quiet. Our room was quite small but sufficient for our stay. The room was also very warm, but a fan was available for use and it was used whilst we were inside the room. Our apartment was on the basement level which did not include a lift (stairs only), if I stayed again I would consider this as it did become tiresome (especially with suitcases) Kitchen area and fridge were a good size. Laundry facilities were reasonable. Nil issues with the bathroom. Extra linen was available. A good stay in Reykjavik. Can recommend

The flat has great location , great keypad system - parking was plentiful and the heating system was great - kept flat at nice temp throughout stay. There was no freezer in out apartment so that prevented us getting ice etc and overall the flat cleanliness wasn’t great … main issue was noise . Outside the flat there are extensive work ongoing - looks like new build construction. Some nights this work went to midnight and on one occasion went on until 2am . Was impossible to sleep through the noise which restarted around 7am . Suspect taking advantage of long days . This is a red flag and worth checking with the flat owners to comfier latest on the construction. From what I can see it had months remaining .

Our apartment opened up straight onto the courtyard at the back. During the night there was a fierce storm which caused a temporary power cut. It seems that when the power goes out, the doors unlock and unfortunately we woke up to an open door with wind and snow blowing into our room. As others have mentioned the drains were smelly and our room had the same keycode as the front door which made us slightly apprehensive that all the rooms use the same code!? In the morning we spotted some sort of maggot making their way out of the door frame in the bathroom and there was a really bright light in the ceiling that couldn't be turned off (possible fire alarm). On the positive side its in a great location, there is free parking, it looks recently renovated and the room was reasonably priced. We only stayed 1 night and we were happy to leave.

We selected a basement room for our stay in Reykjavík as we were on a budget. Great value, good location between downtown and bus terminal, small well equipped kitchenette and the shower with good water pressure. Would recommend.
