I stayed for two nights in a single room on the second floor, overlooking the garden. The room may have been small by "American-hotel standards," but it had everything I needed and more -- a small closet and a set of hooks on the wall where I could hang my things; a clean, comfortable bed with a duvet; a bedside...

A fine guesthouse in an unbeatable location in downtown Reykjavik with easy parking options all around. The hosts are very accommodating and kind, especially to guests arriving early at the airport, and they made the stay pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was nicely prepared and well equipped; the porridge was particularly satisfying, as was the homemade bread. The room itself...

Was a real pleasure to stay here in August. The hosts were most welcoming and the rooms were clean & tidy. Note this is not a hotel. It is someone's home and if you're expecting to be waited on - you should find a hotel. This is a huge home with a number of rooms available to guests. Breakfast is...

Quad room was very small and had a tiny (and smelly, but that's mostly down to natural water, I think) bathroom and just reasonable beds. Breakfast was OK-ish and landlord also not so friendly. Location is not bad (also not great) and price is way too high for what you get. I would not repeat.

This was not a terrible place, but we felt that it was a little expensive for what it was. That being said, everything in Iceland is expensive! It was comfortable enough, and the breakfasts were plentiful but the room was terribly small and the bathroom (shared) was even smaller. Good location, though, within very easy walking reach of all downtown...

Excellent location close to all key highlights you want to see in Reykjavik. Friendly welcome, nice comfortable rooms with own keys, simple but good breakfast. Parking the car on opposite parking lot was not a problem during the weekend, if you are staying during a week probably better to ask in advance. We really enjoyed the stay there.

We had a wonderful and welcoming stay in Eric the Red's loft apartment when we first arrived in Reykjavik and then in the guesthouse when we returned after a week exploring Iceland. All of the accommodation was clean, comfortable and we felt very at home. The apartments and guesthouse are conveniently located for exploring the city each being only a...

Eric the Red is perfectly located close to the central downtown area of Reykjavik but away from any noise that you hear in busy tourist areas. Across the street from Hallgrimskirja Church you always have an easy reference point to guide you back home. There are a variety of different size rooms to accommodate all your needs. I had a...

Based on other reviews, I chose this guesthouse and was definitely not disappointed! Very comfortable room, delicious breakfast options, great location (practically across the street from Hallgrimskirkja - it's such a landmark that it made finding our guesthouse very easy) and a friendly, accommodating staff. We had a late arrival and arrangements were made in advance for us and when...
