Effortlessly modern, incredibly easy and beautifully comfortable. That’s the Brim Hotel, right in the heart of Reykjavik, where you can experience contemporary hotel accommodation combined with the ultimate in freedom and flexibility. Your unique experience starts as soon as you arrive, as this is a self-check-in hotel. Park for free outside and enjoy not having far to wheel your luggage inside. The first thing you’ll notice – apart from the smart and simple design of the interior – is that there’s no reception desk, just an easy-to-use check-in interface that’ll ensure you get to your room with no fuss, no matter what time you arrive. And what a room! There are 35 in total, each furnished simply and attractively. Choose from a combination of single, twin, double and family rooms, all with gloriously comfortable beds and either a private or shared bathroom with tub and shower. All rooms are non-smoking and your pets are welcome to join you – after all, vacations aren’t the same unless your furry friends can come with you, are they? The rooms offer all kinds of different views. In some you can wake up to the stunning sight of the mountains. In others, you can look out over the ocean or lakes. Rooms are ideal for digital nomads or remote workers too, thanks to the presence of a desk and chair, and the great wifi service that makes it easy to stay in touch with customers, clients and colleagues, as well as friends and family back home. THE LOCATION: Staying in Brim Hotel not only gives you the convenience to self cater and enjoy independence, it also puts you in a convenient location, just 500 metres from downtown Reykjavik. That makes it easy to walk or cycle to many of the town’s major attractions, including: Laugavegur Shopping Street This is the premier shopping district in the capital, with a great selection of boutiques, bars and restaurants to choose from. Reykjavik Art Museum This is actually located in three different and distinct locations across the city, and is home to the largest art collection in the country. Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre If you have tickets for a performance or an event here, staying in Brim Hotel will make it easy to get to the venue and back again. Hallgrímskirkja Church What an amazing landmark this is, towering 74 metres into the city’s skyline and a great photo opportunity. Solfar Sun Voyager Another place to get the camera phone out is this sculpture by Jon Gunnar Amason The Perlan Built using more than 350 tons of snow, this 100 metre-long ice cave features exhibitions as well as a bar and restaurant. GETTING AROUND Being located so close to the centre of Reykjavik, walking to many places is really easy. Of course, you can hire taxis or a private car if you want someone else to do the driving. The city also has a great bus system which will take you to all kinds of places across the city. The nearest airport to the hotel is Reykjavik Domestic Airport which is a little over 1 mile away Guest access There’s more to enjoy in Brim Hotel Reykjavik beyond the four bright walls of your brilliant bedroom. There’s a shared kitchen with multiple ovens, microwaves, stovetops, plus cupboards and fridge freezers in which to store your favourite foods. All the cookware and plates you’re likely to need are here too, as well as dishwashers to help you tidy up afterwards. Whether you prepare snacks or meals, you can choose to take your food and drink back to your room, or sit in the kitchen where there are tables and chairs, or in the living area area which has more seating, plus a wall-mounted flat screen TV.

Good: The check-in/check-out process was very easy, and the location was very good. The room was very clean, and the heating system worked very well. The parking is free and always seems to have a free spot in front of the hotel. Bad: The room and the bedroom are a bit too dark. The breakfast is a bit simple and repetitive.

Very pleasant place, cosy rooms, clean toilets and bathroom. Staff Nice and discreet. Hot drinks and cookies at disposal, the breakfast is varied and copious. The location is about 20 minutes walk from Laugavegur. We didn’t regret our choice!

Great location, easy walk into the main town. As a base this hotel is perfect, great beds! So comfortable. The room is basic but that's all you need. Coffee facilities available all day. We had a bathroom with our room, I recommend. No hairdryer in room!

The hotel is easy to find and is not too far away from the city center. It has parking in front of the building. Coffee/tea and cookies are offered for free and are really there. The hotel has a kitchen with everything that you need to make food. The place is clean. Would be good to have at least some hangers to hang clothes in the room, not just put on the chair. The upper-bunk bed was reallycrackling.

I stayed at the BRIM Hotel for three days, everything has been very satisfying. The Hotel is located in the center of the city but not in the rather noisy streets of the old town. The breakfast buffet is very nice, there is always free coffee and tea throughout the day

Nice large clean room Great breakfast Only comment would be to bring some cosines to the rooms because it is very spartan with only one light in the room that blinds you. But room is clean and bed very comfortable. Although the neighborhood is not pretty, it is safe, and within easy walking distance of the city center

For me, it has been the perfect quality/price combination. Brim Hotel would be your choice if you’re looking for something not very pretentious and not too distant from downtown. I would recommend it!
