Photos online simply do not do this lovely guesthouse any justice, as I feel that it was one of the coziest I have stayed at in Iceland. Located in the heart of Reykjavik and steps away from the parliament, it is in a relatively quiet area and stands in such a beautiful building. It is also steps away from various...

I would not recormend this guest house to anyone. It was dirty in the room and in the bathroom. There were moold in the windows, and they hadnt vaccumed for a long time. We only got 1 towell for 4 days. Never meet the people who rentet us the room. It was expencive, and in the add it seemed like...

Clean-ish, spacious room. Top floor bathroom was served it's purpose. What I can say about THAT bathroom (more specifically the shower): the stall is quite small and the shower head quite wide, hanging directly overhead, rather than off the wall at an angle. My husband liked to call it the "PTSD shower", because there was not a small space in...

Everything about this guesthouse was perfect for a week. The key code was sent ahead of time and got me in, and the floor plan of the building (which they also sent ahead of time) made it easy to find my room. The first night was a little noisy and construction started on the street out front the next morning...

My first time to Iceland, what a beautiful place very friendly people. The guesthouse is located in the centre of town and is central to everything. The owners are very friendly and will give you lots of information. The rooms are clean and tidy and ideal for travellers and students. This is a guesthouse for people that are in transit...

First of all, Katie and Rafn, who own and run 1912 Guesthouse are wonderful. They are friendly, outgoing, and hospitable. On my fourth night at the guesthouse they made waffles (not a regular occurrence, but it was Culture Night in Reykjavik). I was already enjoying my stay but this bit of hospitality and meeting some of their family and friends...

Historical home within walking distance of attractions and the main street in Reykjavik. The house is large with many rooms and with plenty of bathrooms for the volume. Nice big windows and communal areas. Kitchen has dedicated refrigerator areas for each room so guests can store their food and drinks knowing they will be there when they get home. Great...

We just returned from a very enjoyable stay at the 1912 Guest House! It is very centrally located, within easy walking distance from all of the sites of Reykjavik. We had to share a bathroom but the bathrooms were always clean and available. All guests are required to take off their shoes in the building and thus, the floors are...

I can't bring myself to give this guest house 5 stars / dots. It's in a great location, right downtown in the busy area, convenient to many attractions, restaurants, and shops. It's 1/4 the cost of the Hotel Borg which is 50 feet away, on the square. It's very clean and has just about everything you need: well equipped kitchen,...
