The check in process was all done online and you are emailed your actual room location at check-in time where a link is given to download a digital key with an address.
We were allocated a one bedroom suite in the Prime Minister's Residence which was perfect, centrally located with a bus stop outside. We were also upgraded from a studio which was a lovely surprise.
The suite was spotless, warm and tastefully decorated with a small, well equipped kitchen complete with milk, fruit juice and breakfast cereal. Room service kept the room clean and topped up your fridge supplies when needed.
The suite was quiet despite being in the centre of the city and as we were on the top floor, there were views over the sea between the buildings at the back. There was also a car park opposite if you decide to drive, and the main shopping area was within a minutes walk with plenty of places to eat and drink.
Absolutely would return here, staying in a small, historic building made the trip even more special.

Had a great stay here. We had the studio apt and it was the perfect size for 2 people. Very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. I thought bed was super comfy. My sister with a bad back had to sleep on pullout couch instead of the bed because it was firmer.
Had 2 minor aggravations, but other than those had a great stay. The hotel advertises if you are gluten free they will accommodate that food allergy. I confirmed before arrival we would be getting gluten free bread. Out of a 5 day stay it only actually happened once after major persistence on our part. No idea why if they offer it they could not follow through. If you are GF there is a great GF bread at Korean grocery store. Other issue was the induction stove. 2 of us could not figure it out. Turns out you have to have pan on the burner before it will heat up. Who knew? Instructions would have helped.
One of the best amenities is the reception area. Great place to stop by to warm up and hang out on the couches while waiting for room to be ready. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful in reception. The reception area has two large bathrooms and even a shower. It was awesome we could stow our bags and retrieve them once room was ready. Loved plenty of coffee available in our room. Definitely would stay here again.

What a Great set of hotels these are!

We returned to Reykjavik December 2024 with our son and stayed at the Reykjavik Residence Suites part of this hotel. This is a relatively new hotel only about 6 months old and it made up of a few separate buildings a few streets apart from each other.

The Suits section is in the building called the Prime Ministers House on Hverfisgata, it is a leisurely 2 minute walk from the main hotel and reception next to the Danish embassy. The building itself is lovely and is in a perfect location in downtown Reykjavik everything is in easy walking distance. Harpa Concert hall is a short stroll as is Laugavegur.

There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops within a minute or two of stepping out the front door and one of the local bus pick ups for the tours is less than a minutes walk.

All that is great but the accommodation itself is fantastic it has every amenity you could want there is a small and simple kitchen including stove microwave fridge coffee machine etc. A small dining table for 4 and across the room is a comfy sofa that turns into a good size double bed. The master bedroom is separated by a huge sliding door and off this is the large ensuite with rainfall shower.

The beds are firm but comfortable and each room has a TV.

You can pay extra for breakfast that is delivered to the room. each afternoon a basket of fruit, Jams, Nuttella, Skyer (Islandic yoghurt) cold cuts, cheeses, veg and eggs are delivered and placed into your fridge along with milk and juice cartons. Each morning they attach a bag of fresh baked bread to your door. It is a lovely way to do it and is well worth it there is enough to make sandwiches for a packed lunch as well as breakfast stuff.

The staff are based at the main Hotel and are Friendly and very helpful Special mentions to Both Costa and Katrina who were awesome sorting out a later checkout for us and lovely to chat with.

We would all stay here again and hope to return in the spring.

From the start, the hotel’s customer service was quick to reply to questions, helpful and informative.

If I could, I would give the hotel 6 stars for customer service alone. The day before checkout, I had an accident and ended up I. The Emergency Room. We needed to cut our trip short but weren’t sure if we could fly out the following day or the day after. The hotel gave us a late checkout (1pm) and we could have added an additional nights stay in the same room if we’d needed it.

The clerk when we dropped off our luggage to store until check I. Was friendly and gave us a great recommendation for breakfast (The Grey Cat).

The check in location is separate from all the accommodations, so we did have to walk a few blocks after check in with all of our luggage. But the clerk at the desk gave excellent t directions and really good advice about parking (park closer to the bay for P3 to save $$$!)

We booked the 2 Bed/2 Bath apartment for 5 nights for two couples. The beds were comfortable, the living area was spacious. Everything was clean.

The showers in both bathrooms did not have any curtain or door so when showering expect everything in front of the shower to get wet. In the en suite bathroom, the shower opens to the sink, so anything on or near the sink gets wet. The en suite bathroom has a window, and the sill serves as a shelf for personal toiletries when showering. The other bathroom does not have any shelving in the shower for personal toiletries.

The “breakfast” was enough food for four guests to eat at least two meals per day. We supplemented a little with trips to the grocery store for coffee creamer, sodas and snacks, but everything else (skyr, bread, cheese, fruit, etc.) was in the basket each day. And the fresh baked bread every morning was divine!

We are already planning g another trip to Iceland and will certainly book with this hotel again.

Thinking back to the trip to Iceland this August we remember with pleasure this hotel, where we spent both the first night and the last of the holiday, before returning to the airport. We stayed in 5 in a very refined apartment and equipped with every comfort, with high-level equipment regarding kitchen equipment, linen, shower kit, TV, seating and beds. Everything was spotless. Pleasant breakfast for the next day (Icelandic style) which is in the fridge on arrival and has satisfied everyone's tastes. The only drawback: it has no parking. It is a short walk from the historic center. You have to unload your luggage by stopping where you can and then look for parking (for a fee) on the street nearby. There is also an underground car park practically in front but pay attention to opening times. If you see it leaving very early the airport is closed.

Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel - Highly Recommended
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We stayed at Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel from December 30th to January 5th, 2024, booking two apartment rooms for a family of four. Overall, our experience was excellent!

Location: The hotel is centrally located in downtown Reykjavik, making it very convenient to access shopping and dining options.

Staff & Service: The staff was available 24/7 and incredibly helpful. They went out of their way to assist us, even helping us locate Northern Lights tours by emailing companies on our behalf. Their responsiveness and accommodating nature were much appreciated.

Amenities: The kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like cornflakes, milk, and oil, making it very family-friendly. Housekeeping was done daily, and they cleaned all the utensils and dishes efficiently.

Breakfast Service: If you opt for breakfast, they deliver fresh bread every morning along with dry snacks, butter, and other items, which was a lovely touch.

Cleanliness: The housekeeping team maintained high standards, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay throughout.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel to anyone visiting Reykjavik. It’s a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

Our clean and comfortable economy studio was perfectly sized for two people. The bed was great. We got a good daily rate by booking more than 4 consecutive nights. I have to eat gluten free and the hotel did a great job making accommodations for my dietary needs while still providing my husband with a fresh baked loaf of sour dough bread each morning! The location was close to restaurants, shops, and Harpa, as well as about a 5 minute walk from Bus Stop 14 where we met our tour buses. Our kitchenette was well stocked and the mini fridge had a small freezer for rechilling our travel ice packs.

We stayed three nights at the Reykjavik Residences, staying in a second floor apartment in the Prime Minister's residence. It was a lovely sized apartment with a bedroom with tall windows, good blackout shades and plenty of hanging space, a nice sized bathroom (which could have used a few hooks), a small foyer outside the bathroom with a full length mirror, and a large living room with a fold-out couch, a small bar and a full equipped kitchen with milk and juice in the refrigerator. There was a coffee and tea set-up with an electric kettle. Every afternoon by 4pm, someone delivered a basket with bread, cheese, hard boiled eggs, fruit, jams, butter and yogurt into the fridge so we could eat breakfast whenever we woke up. Someone else delivered fresh bread (yum), hung on the doorknob, by 8am each morning. It was delightful to eat breakfast in our room, and a particularly good idea as we'd flown in a long way. The room also had a food compost container with a top, so we could dispose of our coffee grounds and egg shells, and not have them smell up the room. (Having a food waste container in a hotel room is not common for us, and a very welcome addition.) The room fronted on a main street, but the windows and walls are quite thick so the room was pretty quiet. (Even a Saturday night rock concert on an adjoining street wasn't too loud.) Housekeeping was exceptionally sensitive and attentive. The Front Desk is in another building, but staffed 24/7 and very helpful. Our contact-less room key system didn't work (we think we had a bad reader on our door), but the physical key system worked well. An added plus, we arrived at 10:45am, and although our room wasn't to be ready until 3pm, the Front Desk kindly allowed us to check-in early, for which we continue to be profoundly grateful. We loved the Reykjavik Residences, and hope to return there soon.

The room was excellent. Location is very good. A short walk into the city and the harbor. Housekeeping was excellent. We stayed in the building at 21 Hverfisgata.
Our room had a kitchenette with a microwave; refrigerator stocked with whole milk + apple juice; and a microwave. There were utensils and pots and pans for cooking and also cooktop stove burners. There was an excellent coffee machine with pods of several kinds of coffee and hot chocolate. You can get a breakfast with more protein for the same( high) price of $25 USD pp across the street at a small restaurant with very few tables. Or you can walk a few blocks to one of several nearby bakeries. The people running the front desk were very helpful, especially Katrina and Yulia. Still this is a very expensive hotel if you want a room with space. We had just come from Prague where we had a much bigger hotel apartment with kitchenette at a price 25% lower with 3x as much space. There is no Kleenex and no way to adjust the thermostat. They provide umbrellas outside the door and you'll need them. Not much space at the bathroom sink. Large bath towels are pretty thin but adequate. Overall a good experience but very pricey by international standards. Still, Iceland has no bargains. Prepare to pay a lot for everything. When you book this property, understand they have rooms in several buildings along the street. If you try to use the Flybus, you might end up with a longer walk than you think and if it's raining and cold, beware. Try for find out exactly which building you're in. It might be better to take a taxi from the Flybus terminal to your specific building at the hotel. Dealing with Reyjkavik taxis is another matter. They seem to charge whatever they want and aren't on time if you order one. Uber does not operate here.

We stayed in a suite, which had lots of space and lovely bath. The breakfast hamper is nice and the sourdough bread they deliver each morning from a local bakery is incredible. Our room was in the Prime Ministers Building, equidistant between bus stops 6 and 14 - couldn't ask for a better location, with another public bus stop literally outside and a 30 second walk to the main 'Laugavegur' street.
