I am traveling with a Walking Adventures International group & got bumped from the former Best Western Fosshotel up the block due to overbooking. I actually like this hotel better than the former Best Western. It seems newer, fresher & nicely appointed. They have TWO Happy Hours in a pleasant bistro-type lounge/restaurant. Breakfast is provided downstairs & has many choices.

This is probably the most spartan of the Fosshotels in Reykjavik but served our purposes just fine. It was in the older part of the city and we were able to walk from here to coffee shops, a walking tour in the center of the old city, a few blocks up to the Hallgrimskirche, the shopping streets, restaurants. We also...

Having spent the previous night in a dump of a hotel we were pleased to find here a clean, modern room with all the facilities expected of a tourist hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There was secure free parking at the rear of the establishment. The hotel had an elevator so we didn't have to drag our bags...

We stayed here for just one night, and that was plenty. The room was tiny. The shower was so small that I can't imagine a grown man using it. It left the bathroom floor covered in water. Breakfast was fine, but nothing to write home about. It's a fine place to kick off an adventure in Iceland, but I wouldn't...

Central location, not exactly a picturesque area of Reykjavik, but the city rarely is 'pretty'. This is your usual basic and comfortable hotel room. It won't wow you, but it ticks all of the boxes. Breakfast is nice enough, staff were all lovely and helpful.

This is a typical European hotel; nice spread at breakfast and pretty small rooms. Hard to turn around in the bathroom (LOL). Certainly comfortable and I wouldn't shy away from staying here--just don't expect lots of space. Don't miss the Resto restaurant across the street; we passed it everyday with nary a glance and finally decided to give it a...

We stayed for 5 nights and had a lovely stay. The hotel is very busy with tour parties but I've stayed in far busier. The staff are so helpful. I had read that the rooms were warm so requested a fan and one was provided promptly. Breakfast is very good, we timed it to avoid the tour parties as they...

Traveling with my wife and teenage daughter. We were given a triple room (smallest room in all our trip) on the 3rd floor facing the main street, as every main street in Iceland it was very quiet. The mattress and pillow were great, as in every hotel in Iceland. The bathroom was very small and the shower curtain didn't do...

That peter Gabriel. He would love iceland him. All that minimalism and goatees and stuff.I once went to a disco in rural Austria, where at the final song of the night, they played Gabriels "Biko" - have you ever tried to get all romantic on the floor whilst some posh bloke bangs on about a murdered South African rights activist...

Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our 3 night stay. The location of this hotel is good for exploring but not actually very nice so if you are after views etc it won't be for you. Room was very small and furniture seemed be fashioned out of old pieces of broken furniture. Virtually no storage for clothes which given the...
