I always try to stay at the Igdlo when I am in Reykjavík because of the great location, the good price and the friendly staff. When you book with them directly breakfast is included. They have cereal and different types of yogurt, toast with jam or chocolate spreads as well as cheese and meat cuts. There is always free coffee...

Decided to stay here for six nights in early April and am glad I did. Ended up getting a single private room, with a shared bathroom for a great price each night. There was a large group of High School students from the US, which made things interesting, but they were pretty well behaved overall. It was a great experience...

Five friends stayed in Igdlo for a couple of nights. The room was not very big, but fair enough. There is one toilet and shower per floor. Anyway, we didnt have to wait to have a shower. Quality of breakfast was not that good, but nothing to complain about. Location was perfect, 5-10 minutes walking from downtown. And price was...

Had a private room with a friend and it was clean and comfortable. Didn't break the bank. The Free Coffee and free parking were life savers. Met lots of people in the communal kitchen, and the walk wasn't too far from downtown. Wish there was more around. It was a little exhausting having to walk 25 min every time we...

Conveniently located, clean and the nicest people running the place. Was a great way to save on accommodations and use that money for great meals around town! Book early to get a nice private room with shared bath!

There are stairs up to the front door and the guesthouse has no elevator. Because Reykjavik uses hyrdo-thermal heat, our room was toasty to the point of opening a window, even though it was winter weather. The room, on the first floor, had 2 twin beds, a closet, sink and a mirror. The bathroom was located directly across the hall....

Two nights in Reykjavik at the igdlo. Room on 1st floor, next to bathhroom. Very clean, quite and felt welcomed. No luxury here, small single room, no cable on TV, shared bathroom ( but sink in rooms), so relatively inexpensive for the superb location. Less than 10 minutes walk from bus station and the cathedral. Basic but good buffet breakfast...

So, Igdlo. I had no idea what to expect, and the photographs I saw didn't really do this place a lot of justice. As a couple with a small amount of disposable income, my girlfriend and I had to think realistically when it came to booking accommodation in this incredibly expensive country. After browsing for a few nights after work,...

A lovely place to stay at a reasonable price, Iceland can be expensive and I was worried when we booked here that it may be cold or uncomfortable. Not the case, the rooms aren't with frills but nothing beats coming to a lovely cosy room after exploring in Iceland countryside. There are cooking facilities which are great because eating out...
