I stayed here for 6 nights. I booked a room in the Annex, which I researched in advance, and is slightly larger than the normal guest rooms and had a kitchenette. The room was incredibly spacious. The kitchenette area was a separate space with a dining table so it was separate from the bedroom like a suite would be. My bedroom was on the ground floor so I kept the blinds down most of the time. There are no elevators in the annex so pack appropriately. The person who checked me in, helped bring down my luggage the few steps that were there. At check out, I just did it myself as it wasn’t a very big deal. But for some, this might be a problem. The rooms look new and updated. There’s plenty of space to unpack your belongings and hang up clothes and put them in drawers. The fridge is an adequate size for some groceries but it’s not a full length fridge if that’s what you’re looking for. The bathroom was nice- there was even a diffuser attachment for the blow dryer, which I very much appreciated since I have curly hair. The shower does create a big mess with the water since there isn’t a shower door. I had to put towels on the floor when showering to catch all the water. Thankfully everything dried quickly. The breakfast was outstanding and one of the best I’ve seen while traveling. There were so many options to choose from daily. The hotel is very close to bus stops 1-3, so that was very convenient for tour pickups. There’s a convenience store (10-11) near by, a food hall (posthas), and a Krónan is a few minutes walk away. There are many other landmarks and fun places in close proximity to walk and/deice. Overall, I loved my stay and would choose to stay here again!

First time staying in Saga hotel in my 3rd visit to Reykjavik, and this would be my choice again in future trips. The welcome was great, with an upgrade given to us which was a lovely surprise - so nice especially as we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room at the front of the hotel had a view of the spire of Hallgrimskirkja (room 335). The touch screen lighting, window and door sign technology (iykyk) was something we'd not experienced before, very interesting, particularly being able to control the windows via the pad on the wall (maybe we're Luddites as this did impress us!)
The bed was one of the comfiest we've ever slept in, with super soft pillows, making a great sleep a certainty. The black marble, underfloor heated bathroom was huge with everyone needed plus plenty of towels and all the lotions/potions you'd expect in this high end style hotel.
The staff were all, without exception, friendly and welcoming with unobtrusive attentive care.
The food at the breakfast buffet was amazing, not a word I would normally use to describe a buffet, but absolutely everything was on display to satisfy even the pickiest of appetites. We had an evening meal on our anniversary, and this was also excellent, with great service from Helga, who we discovered had also worked in Levi, where we met and married!
In summary, the hotel was a first class venue in a perfect location in the city to cater for all our needs. We would definitely return here in the future.

We give Hotel Reykjavik Saga a solid 5/5 stars! The hotel was incredibly fresh, and the breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We loved the beautiful architecture and the aesthetic design of the hotel. We also had the chance to enjoy their spa and gym, which were completely free and included with our stay. It was such a relaxing experience. The beds were incredibly comfortable – we’ve never slept so well at a hotel! Adjusting the room temperature was very easy, as was opening the windows to air out the room. Everything was managed through a digital panel, and the rain shower in the bathroom was an added bonus, which we really appreciated. The staff at the reception were very attentive, helpful, and friendly. On our last day, when we were leaving for the airport early in the morning, they gave us breakfast packages to take with us, which was a nice touch. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city with walking distance to everything. It’s on the same street as the Hard Rock Café and next door to many other great restaurants, plus just a couple of minutes' walk to all the shops. We will definitely return, and we can hardly imagine staying at any other hotel in Reykjavik.

This is the best hotel during my trip to Iceland. The location is great, just near the Tjornin Lake, which is a great place for you to spend some time. However, sometimes it will be very windy so very warm jacket in winter.

The room is big enough with good decoration. The most important thing is they provide slippers, which is very rare in Iceland during my trip. They do not provide bottled water but tap water is drinkable if you are using cold water.

There are a few bus stops nearby, which means you have plenty of options for getting on tour and drop off/pick up for airport.

The only thing I think should be improved is the breakfast. They did provide some choices but it's not enough for me. However, I don't think it is a negative point considering the location. They did provide dinner and it is worth trying.

Anyway, I will recommend this hotel.

Excellent rooms, excellent location. The hotel is ideally located in the Middle of Reykjavik, within short walking distance of most of Reykjavík's key sites, and within 10 minutes walk of the main bus terminal too, which means if you don't have too much baggage to carry you can take the bus and save a lot on taxi's getting to and from the airport. The rooms are very nice, well equipped (complimentary coffee machine, iron & ironing board, etc) well soundproofed, and well-light proofed with solid curtains given that it doesn't get very dark through the night in summer, and the breakfast food was an excellent section - including to my taste, lots of fresh fruit, cheese, salmon, and pastries.

This was a such a clean and stylish hotel; we were very impressed. We paid a bit more for the superior room which was very spacious, with a lovely bathroom (separate shower and bath) and huge bed, which was very comfortable. There was an impressive variety of food to choose from at breakfast, many healthy options but also lots of pastries and cakes! No one else seemed to use the complimentary spa downstairs during our stay, so we had it to ourselves each day, which was very peaceful and relaxing! We ate in the restaurant on arrival at lunchtime and really enjoyed the food - it was nice to have a choice of vegetarian options. The waitress was so friendly and shared her recommendations for food and suggestions for our activities on our trip. She chatted to us each following day at breakfast to check how our holiday was going, and even remembered when it was our last day, which was sweet of her. (We didn’t catch her name, but she was originally from Mexico and had just returned to work following maternity leave so thank you if that was you!). We made use of the hotel happy hour 4-6pm to take advantage of the cheaper drinks, as everything in Iceland is very expensive. The hotel location was great- we were able to walk to the harbour, tourist attractions, shops, restaurants, park/lake etc. and Bus Stop 3 for booked excursions and airport transfers.

We recently stayed at Hotel Reykjavik Saga for 7 nights. Like another reviewer had mentioned, it was difficult to choose a hotel in a place completely unknown to us but I honestly don’t think I could have found a better hotel to stay in.
Location is perfect, there are lots of restaurants close by if you didn’t want to venture too far after a long day out on one of the many day tours. Rainbow street, The Harpa and Hallgrimskirkja are all a reasonably short walk away too. We used Bus stops 1 and 2 for our Tour pick up points which are literally over the road and around the corner from the hotel.
The hotel is beautiful, modern/Nordic design, our room was really beautiful, we loved the ridiculously comfortable bed, the rain shower and the bathroom products smelled gorgeous. The room also had a nespresso machine , great choice of teas and a mini fridge.
All of the hotel staff that we met were so helpful and friendly and are happy to advise and help with any questions you may have.
I can’t recommend this hotel enough, it was absolutely perfect and made my husbands birthday extra special.
We hope to return in the very near future!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Helpful and friendly staff. Very clean and efficient,as all of Iceland is! Hotel has a spa but we never had time to use it. Location is perfect for exploring Reykjavik on foot and for all the sightseeing tours. Bus stops 1,2,and 3 are on the door step. Breakfast is excellent with an amazing choice. Bacon, scrambled egg and beans was our staple diet plus cereals, fruit juices, tea, coffee and so much more. Our room was clean and modern with everything we needed such as a TV, and tea making facilities (kettle was in a cupboard my wife tells me, along with an iron!, but I never saw them), and we never used any of them. We never quite sorted out the lighting in the bedroom. It was all or nothing as you had to use a card in a slot by the door upon entry (and for the lift). Take the card out, you had no lighting, so we had to use a phone to go for a pee!. Refuse bins are available in the lobby for plastics, paper and general waste. I'm not sure why I mention this but Iceland are well into segregating their rubbish, which can only be a good thing. Drinks are expensive everywhere in Iceland. We did buy a round of 3 cocktails at the bar, as we're on holiday, and it was £50. Get used to those prices! Lesson here is if you are into a rum and coke, as we are (or tipple of your choice) in your bedroom, then load up at duty free in UK. Bacardi in UK is around £22 a litre. You can only buy alcohol at a licensed shop and they tend to close at 5pm. We ended up having to buy a bottle of bacardi rum for £44 but this still way cheaper than paying the bar prices. You can buy coke and sandwiches at the local Kronos (like Aldi, so your best place to get stuff like water and nibbles). We were only there for a few days so never eat at the hotel but there are good restaurants near by that cater to your wallet. We would certainly stay here again.

Myself and my fiancé stayed at the Saga as a special trip for my 50th birthday 🎁.
From the moment we entered the lobby we were greeted by the team on reception who were more than helpful answering any questions we had regarding our stay .
The hotel was spotless clean , warm and welcoming just what we needed after travelling in our hire car from the airport.
We were given our room key and overjoyed when we opened the door, the room was cosy with all the comforts that we could need , there was a coffee machine in our room but I had taken tea bags as well but as the coffee machine also supplied hot water it was fine , we were told if we required milk we could get this from the restaurant where breakfast is also served however we brought a little carton and kept this in the fridge seemed an easier option. As we spent the majority of our stay exploring we didn’t use the spa facilities.
Our second night we got back after a long day exploring and our room was only lukewarm not a problem I rang reception and they immediately came up to see if it could be sorted then promptly moved us we were then upgraded to a suite such great service thank you.
What else can I say the breakfast was one of the best we have had and catered for all tastes and the staff were pleasant and nothing was to much trouble even filled our travel mugs for a day of exploring.
The only heads up if you are hiring a car the hotel doesn’t have parking so you will need to find a space on the street we downloaded the parka app and as long as you check which zone your in should be fine.

We stayed here as a family of 3 (2 adults and 15 year old). The hotel and room were exceptional. Plenty of space in the room, huge bathroom which included a shower and bath, in room coffee and tea and bathrobes and slippers provided. Our stay felt very luxurious and the beds were so comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet and there was so much choice - food was fresh and tasty. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

There is also an option to jump on a coach transfer. You can purchase a ticket at the desk in the arrivals hall next to the exit and when we were there this month coaches ran every 15 minutes. The Hotel is right by Bus Stop 3 . Everything was open when we were there but there will only be a few hours of daylight in December, not that will impact opening times but worth consideration when booking trips. Enjoy.

Good afternoon. No building in Iceland has air condition as it is not needed, our summers are generally very mild. All rooms are equipped with a thermostat to regulate the temperature but for rapid cooling, we recommend opening the window and closing the door to the bathroom, as the floor there is heated.

Good afternoon. All of our rooms have triple insulated glass and rooms are not affected by street noise. Rooms facing away from the street are available but this is subject to availability.
